Had quite a dreadful meal at this restaurant for my mother in law's birthday in June 2008. The starters were OK, but overpriced, and more in line with a small cafe in standard. My steak (ordered rare) was well done. I sent it back and received a blue one! I sent it back again. When I finally ate it, the taste wasn't good - it tasted like the griddle hadn't been cleaned for a long time. Other steaks were tough and of poor quality with variable degrees of cooking. The beef wellington was poor. The only good reports were of the lamb shank special. The sweets were OK, but I suspect not home prepared. The wine and other drinks were fine. The staff were friendly if a little strange. I understand that this restaurant has been excellent in the past, but I think it is struggling now.
