Have just been to Thai Spice, both had the set menu B (spicy, set menu A is mild dishes) - £16.50 per head. Fantastic food. Waiters (one in particular) are very happy, almost scarily so. I'm happy, also very full, feeling sleepy. Need a nap. God bless Thai Spice - great value for money and we should know - live in the north...

Awesome little thai restaurant that is hidden away off West St. Always exceptional service and great value. We moved to Brighton and intended to visit every restaurant, but we keep going back to thai spice....

What a fantastic little resturant, I only work a stones throw away from the place and it has now become a regular lunchtime haunt. Great service and great food. The lunchtime special is just great value for money all round.

AWESOME !

i can be very fussy when it is for Thai food ! tired of restaurant pretending to be Thai when most of their offer is chineese.

Thai Spice is the best Thai restaurant so far i tried.

i lived a few months in Thailand and i can assure you food taste exactly the same !!! i love their Tom Ka Kai (Mushroom and chicken soup) and their green curry is just delicious !

staff is so friendly as well.

...oups i almost forget, such a cheap place to eat as well !

Just go for it !!!!

On recommendation from this site, tried their lunch menu. Mushroom Hot Soup was absolutely gorgeous, just right, spicy but refreshing.

Pad Thai Noodles with chicken was slightly unadventurous considering the rest of the menu, but a sizeable portion and faultless in taste and texture, up there with the best I've had elsewhere.

They also do takeaway, and given the quality, this could now become my oriental takeaout of choice, as I've been underwhelmed by the ordinary Chinese Takeaways in the area thus far

Following my previous review, visited last night (12/04) and we were welcomed with open arms. As it was early, we requested a four seater table for four - tables for two are so tiny! After being promptly ushered into a lovely slightly elevated booth (for four) we sat back and relaxed in the tranquil atmosphere. Two girls were happily eating in the window seat, pleasant music played and we were pleased to return. We shared a small platter of mixed starters, prawn crackers and a bottle of fizz before embarking on the main course. The chicken jungle curry was very hot and tasty, but a bit overstuffed with vegetables. The weeping tiger sirloin steak nearly made us weep - melt in the mouth, quality steak wonderfully presented on a sizzler, accompanied by a tasty hot sauce served seperately. Along with egg fried rice and noodles with spring onion and beansprouts, it was a happy experience from start to finish. By the time we left, the place was busy. We were warmly greeted by the owner/manager who was pleased to see us visit again so soon. We told her that we had only found her restaurant because of the reviews on this site. She wasn't surprised and said that most people found her that way. Thank you to the people who reviewed before and prompted us to visit. We will return soon - I overheard another diner say that the crispy duck with tamarind was so good he had it every visit! Mouth's watering already!

Visited Good Friday for lunch, simply because of the previous reviews. Tried their £5.50 two course lunch special and we were very impressed. Crispy won ton filled with potato and vegetables and vegetable spring rolls, (both with sweet chilli sauce) for starters, then two chicken dishes, one with rice and one with flat noodles; both of them very hot and spicy, both extremely tasty. The staff are very smiley and welcoming, not blinking an eyelid when we asked if we could add pineapple to one main and bean sprouts to the other. The portions weren't large, but for £5.50 represented good value. We shall certainly return for more lunches and evening meals. It may be a tiny restaurant, but we received a big welcome and a gracious, smiling goodbye.
