My absolute favourite restaurant anywhere - having spread the word, friends from London are even hooked! The quality and value for money just never ceases to amaze and the staff are always relaxed, friendly and helpful. Particular favourites include the artichokes with ham, the simple but excellent garlic chicken and the chorizo with lentils. Somebody has already mentioned the cheesecake with red wine sauce...an almost religious experience!

One of my favourite places to eat. Definitely the best Spanish Restaurant in and outside of Spain. I have eaten here many times as a couple, and in bigger family groups. I have never been disappointed with anything. A friendly place with quality service and excellent food. Several of my family are vegetarians and they find the menu extensive. we are always made to feel very welcome.

The food is great and it is good value for money. We have been here several times and would not mind going back. The atmosphere is great and the staff are really helpful and friendly. There is an automatic 10% service charge on the food. There is a great choice of wine. As there is so much choice, you could make the mistake of over-ordering. The only criticism would be that there is not much room generally and if you go to the restaurant as a couple you may find that you end up sitting fairly close to another couple which can feel a bit uncomfortable. A real authentic taste of Spain but remember to book as it is often packed!

Undoubtedly the best restaurant in Brighton, and very probably the best tapas outside Spain. What a shame Londoners (judging by the reviews here) don't seem to like real Spanish food. Perhaps they should stay in London.

Booked last thing on a thurs night for friday and could only get a really early table so dont forget to call in advance!

Service was polite and unobtrusive, atmosphere relaxed although did get a little crowded as it got later.

Food was, for the most part, amazing and arrived very quickly. Mussels were beautiful, rabbit was amazingly tender. Prawns with garlic mayo, mixed reaction, prawns were lovely but dont get this if there is any chance of you kissing anyone for 24 hours after! I totally recommend the roast lamb, it had the most fantastic sauce especially with a bit of deep fried aubergine. In fact the only thing I didnt like was the crab claws which arent actually crab claws, they're kind of a minced white stuff in a croquette with breadcrumbs. rubbery. not nice. however the establishment knocked some money off the bill as we had not liked them - I have NEVER had that before and I eat in brighton a lot.

Oh yeah and leave room for dessert, we had a banoffee pie and the cheesecake with red wine sauce. OMG. You must not leave without trying the cheesecake, no matter how full you are!

brilliant meal and service: I've written to private eye about three 'scenes you seldom see' which I experienced from waiters there last weekend:

1.    Nine tapas? No, no, that’s too much!! (that was for three of us, and he was right)

2.    Water? Mineral or tap?

3.    Trya the cheesecake – youa no like, youa no pay!

look out for the specials chalked up - we had an AMAZING swordfish braised in tomato - a huge portion for £7.

A wonderful place to eat. Every mouthful a delight. Every penny well spent. Carlos is the perfect host, the food is superb and the atmosphere is brilliant lunch or evening. Make sure you book a table.

Fantastic little place.

I still dream about the wonderful "tarte de queso", a dreamy cheesecake desert occasionally available as a special, with an equally sublime red wine sauce. Lovely...
