I had the most amazing seabass and banoffee pie, the service was very friendly and happy, i understand there has been a management change over in the past 6 months which has made a huge improvement on service and food alike...

I will def be going back for more!

Super cheap lunch menu works well, I can't speak for the dinner, but based on the comments below, I might not try it. Staff were very friendly, good spaghetti arrived quickly. No problems for a re-fueling stop, but not the cutest place to dine out romantically. Gets very busy so they must be doing something right.

We ate there last night and can't believe most of the other reviewers ate in the same place! The staff were very attentive, despite the restaurant being full, and all three courses of our meal were served quickly and accurately. All three of us enjoyed our meals, and the Tiramisu was voted best ever. It's not a cheap place to eat, but well worth it, and we would definitely book a table there again for another special occasion.

Though the pasta was very nice the pizza was a bit tough. The service was appauling and made the meal very uncomfortable. However being £3.00 a head compensated slightly, the waitors and waitresses were so unbelievably rude that me and my friends will not return to the restaurant.

Lively atmosphere, but poor food and service. 3 had scallops for starter, these were virtually inedible and we were told the forth starter had run out when the other 3 were delivered. Waiter acted like he didn't care. One of the 4 main courses was returned. We will not visit again.

Zafferelll's used to serve excellent food. We ate there last week (over £25/head); they should shut up shop and take up garbage recycling! Without doubt our worst eating experience in Brighton for many years. Just too awful to even comment upon. A disgraceful reflection on eating out in this City which has so many fine restaurants. This is not one!

We have just returned from Zafferellis with a very bad taste in our mouths. We are local brightonians who visit many resturants in Brighton. The service here was bad...food was terrible... we got served our drinks long after people that arrived after us did...My boyfriends got served burnt risotto...basically we stopped on our way home at sainsburys express so we could have cheese on toast for dinner....do not visit this place...

Awful! Went there on Saturday afternoon woth my two friends, and one of their babies. We were seated at the back of the resturant in a pokey corner. The staff were either hard of hearing or rude. I think the latter. We ordered cola, it was flat. Had to explain to them a few times it was flat and we wanted them replaced. I ordered a salad with warm goats cheese. The salad was served dry without any dressing. One friends Carbonara was watery and looked like it had been microwaved, the other friends mussels were in a sauce so salty we wondered what had been done to it. To top this, when our bill arrived, the cheeky restaurant had added a 12.5% service charge!! We didn't pay this, but did pay for the awful food. As we were leaving, one of the waiters came after us and told us that we hadn't paid enough on our bill! It took serveral attempts to inform him that it was the service charge we didn't pay as the food was disgusting, and a service charge is meant to be OPTIONAL!!

Not very impressed with this place. We would've enjoyed our lunch more if we'd gone to McDonald's!
