Dined here on a Sunday night, so it was pretty quiet, but that gave a nice relaxing atmosphere. Service was really good. Staff seemed very friendly and explained the menu to us.

Had the set Tapas menu for £20, plus a bottle of wine and some bread and olives, so the total bill came to about £40. No Service charge included.

As a rule i try to avoid chain restaurants, but we fancied tapas and the small tapas eatery down The Lanes had looked very busy and very cramped.

I was pleasantly surpirsed by La Tasca Brighton...!!!

Not sure about the London and Boston comments? I'm talking about La Tasca in Brighton, England.

Yes, this is part of a chain and maybe doesn't have quite the authentic charm of Casa Don Carlos, but it's a lot easier to get into and it doesn't have timed sittings at the weekend!

This place is GREAT for children. We go early - about 5.30 - and there is no problem getting in. The music is loud enough to help to muffle a 2-year old's yells without embarrassment and when ours dropped his ice cream bowl and smashed it yesterday they didn't bat an eyelid. They have a children's menu and colouring etc, wooden highchairs and friendly staff. However the nature of tapas means that you can order a bit of everything which the kids can try, so we didn't need the children's menu.

There's plenty of space too, unlike many cramped Brighton restaurants, so you can tuck a buggy away without everyone tripping over it.

Excellent value - lots of deals like "Tapas for a tenner". We chose the meat tapas for two at £19.95 which was enough for two plus our four-year old. Baby changing loos too.

Next time you're heading for a traditional "family" eaterie (pizzas, burgers etc) just give this place a go instead - you won't be sorry!

Cant believe the bad reveiew. We went there on Friday night. The place was heaving but the front of house person laughingly took our name and told us it would be about a 20 minute wait...it was actually 40 minutes but we didn't care as we where at the bar waiting and the time flew by.

The food was excellent value we thought and the Spanish wine that the waitress recommended was exactly what we had described to her that we wanted, but what struck us most was that despite all the staff being rushed off their feet they had a smile and laugh with everyone.....doesn't happen very often in London these days I can tell you.

Went for lunch with a friend after the "tapas for a tenner" was reccommended to me, definatey good value for money. We ordered several dishes all which were of good quality for the price although some of the meat was over cooked and dry. Service was very poor when we arrived as restaurant was very busy, we were greated with a waiter who obviously thought it would be a crime to smile!! but as lunch finished service got 10 times better. Would reccommend to someone for lunch but definatley would not go for dinner (gingerman anyday!).

Apalling restaurant - believe it is part of a chain and it showed. No ownership of anything from the staff and the food was luke warm and overpriced.

£17 for 3 pints and 2 glasses of wine - ouch!

I cannot believe the previous reviews for this place. All I can say is it must have changed radically since we went there. We were served chicken that tasted of mildew, one dish didn't arrive and I wish the other hadn't either. When we dared to complain, the dishes were whisked away, and we were confronted with a manager who strolled up then asked "Gotta problem?" Nothing was resolved, the staff didn't seem to know nor care what was going on, and frankly it was appalling. I would query whether anything is freshly cooked or whether it is delivered in previously prepared elsewhere.

Nice food, not particulary exciting but very good value. Nice atmosphere.

Would go there again but have to admit have had more tasty dishes elsewhere.

There is Café-Botilleria of Madrid ... the chiringuitos in Cadaqués ... and Tasca of Boston!

Tasca is the very best Spanish restaurant in Boston but it is far more! I've dined at many of the notable Tapas Restaurants on the East Coast - from Boston to Miami and none have ever eclipsed Tasca of Boston - delicate Spanish cuisine ... great prices ... and a superb wait staff all bathed in atmósfera encantadora.

I have sampled everything on the Tasca menu - but new surprises always await. From Tasca's Bacalao to the Jamón serrano y Queso Manchego and Confít de pato - the tapas are exquisite. Tonight I had the Setas al jerez and Atún salteado. Ahhh ... the Setas al jerez! - portabella mushrooms delicately braised in Tasca's own sherry sauce, served with roasted garlic tostados is incredibly delicious ... and their fine Atún salteado is comparable the any in the finest restaurants in Barcelona. My fav platos principales are Salmón a la plancha and Pato asado.

I cannot say enough about Tasca's professional wait staff. It is rare that you find such exemplary service from people who really seem to enjoy their work place and work. They are consistently pleasant, knowledgeable and tuned to their guests. The Valet is equally pleasant and professional leaving no question about the security and timely delivery of your car.

Tasca's delightful Sangria bursts on the palate with citrus freshness softened in a fine Spanish wine. Dessert? Oh my! Their chilled flan topped with a delicate, carmelized sugar and the chocolate terrine in raspberry sauce are at the top of my list - but I hasten to add that my friends and I love them all. Finally, a word about the owner - always tuned and sensitive to the most subtle needs and wants of his guests and always in good humor.

After many visits to Tasca I can only say that I've never once had a single negative experience and have always left enriched by the experience - pure fun. At Tasca tonight, I closed my eyes and found myself having tapas on the beach in Cadaqués. Hmmm.

This was the first time that I have eaten at La Tasca, and I can happily say that it won't be the last. Wonderful meal. The staff were friendly, the ambiance was great and the food was first rate. We had two bottles of wine, endless dishes (it felt like) of Tapas and we only spent just over £20 each. Can't wait to go back.
