Had alovely meal in the greek side of the restaurant. The kleftiko was beautifully tender, falling off the bone, and the moussaka was extremely tasty. The staff were very friendly, and the meal reasonably priced.

Blimey, this place has gone downhill.
It's split into two separate restaurants - the downstairs is Greek meze, upstairs is Spanish tapas. I've never been to the Greek restaurant, but the tapas bit used to be excellent.
However, I've been a few times over the past few months - most recently last night - and have been distinctly unimpressed every time.
The mussels I ordered were overcooked and chewy. The chorizo in red wine was a pasty, pale pink colour and tasted like a very cheap and nasty substitute for the real thing. As for the patatas bravas, these are smothered in the most insipid tomato sauce you can imagine.
All of the above used to be great, but is now not worth bothering with. Only the pollo al ajillo (chicken in a garlic sauce) remains excellent.
My most recent visit was last night - Valentine's night - and the place was less than half full. I can only assume many other people feel the same as I do and are staying away.

The first time I've visited this place it was smack bang in the middle of Christmas party season. I have to admit I was slightly intoxicated but from what I can remember the service and food, even on a manically busy night, was very impressive. I really liked this place and the prices were a nice surprise too. Would I go back?....definitely!

I love going to Ipanema and go there regulary. All the food is traditionally Greek, reasonably priced and a pleasure to eat. The service is warm and friendly and the atmosphere the same. I would definitly recomend Ipanema as a great place to eat.
