It was lovely whilst it was open. Unfortunately, it has now closed down. My favourite was the ebi furi futo maki rolls and the seared teppanyaki beef fillet. Mouth watering stuff. Thinking about it is making me hungry, so I'm off to Murasaki for a bento box.

I've had some good meals here - I like the tepanyaki and the battered prawn dishes which are consistenly good. It is a bit atmosphereless during the day - when I have been the only diner and not the cheapest. Best for evenings with a group of friends.

Im so suprised to read some of the bad reviews of this place on here - i have eaten here over 15 times and every single time is has been superb. the food is simply fantastic and the friendly chefs complete a fantastic service.

I challenge anyone to have the Tepenyaka Finely sliced sirloin steak with garlic and not be in food heaven. I would reccomned this place to anyone.

Having read the many positive reviews of Sapporo, my partner and I decided to venture there to eat on a Saturday evening. Booking was efficient over the phone and the manager welcoming on entry. We were seated in a pleasant room adjoining the show cooking area. The table we were offered was a little close to other diners so we requested to move and this was arranged promptly. Unfortunately, after this the evening went down hill rapidly. Service was slow and waiting staff seemed unfamiliar with the menu. We decided upon the set menu and requested to alter an aspect as was advertised at the bottom of the menu. Apparently this was not possible, however we offered to pay an additional amount and it was eventually arranged. The first course, chicken skewers, arrived some 25 minutes later. They were extremely greasy and the meat of a very poor standard. Neither of us finished them. The main course was served equally slowly. The quality of this was exceptionally poor. The so called ‘steak’ was predominantly fat, the chicken breast was chewy and certainly not consistent with breast meat and the three king prawns did not present good value for the additional three pounds on top of the original price. After complaining to the manager, we were given the opportunity to order more food – a less than appealing option. Instead, we were offered an ‘extra special desert’, which turned out to be a rather ordinary deep fried ice cream dish. The meal was extremely disappointing and in no way worth the £73 we were charged. I would most definitely never visit Sapporo again and certainly would not recommend it to others wishing to experience good quality food and value for money.

Absolutely fantastic - in fact I think it was my best meal EVER in a restaurant, and I'm over 50! On World Cup finals night (and yes, it was still busy), we had their standard 'summer menu' and I could hardly fault anything - food, showmanship & service. I almost feel mean for not scoring it 100%, but I suppose there might be something they could do better (but I can't think of what).

We visited Brighton for our anniversary and chose Sapporo Teppanyaki as something different.

The food was fantastic but was sadly ruined by the service. The waiters mostly ignored us, forgetting to bring dishes, etc.

It's also worth noting that you have to request to sit by the Teppanyaki grill (where you can have your food cooked in front of you), we were so dissapointed to find ourselves in the restaurant area where we had to stand up to see the chefs entertaining other customers.

Dreadful. The restaurant was very quiet on a saturday night, no atmosphere at all. Tried to charge us for 2 courses that we ordered, and then changed our mind before they had even started cooking them. Unbelievable!! It was also not cheap.

On the positive side the tempura was great. But there must be much better Japanese restaurants in Brighton.

Don't mistake this restaurant for the new Sapporo Teppanyaki chain in Liverpool and Manchester

We visited Sapporo Teppanyaki for a friend's hen weekend and were amazed by everything about the place! The staff were all very friendly and willing to accomodate any requests. The main course is cooked at the table and each of the chef's put on a real show. All the makings for a fantastic afternoon out. A real find!!
