Gars Chinese

It was our first time in Gars last Friday, heard so much about it from friends so decided to give it a try, and we had the most delicious chinese meal ever! On top of that the service was second to none, we were greeted with the most welcoming face by I think the manageress who led us to the bar for a pre-dinner drink first while we can browse through the menu, then we were taken upstairs to our table in a beautiful room which amazed us how big it is. Overall the food was excellent, service was attentive, we will recommend Gars to everyone we know and we will definately be their regulars from now on.

I have visited Gar's on two occasions now, one on a busy Friday evening and one at lunch time midweek. Six of us arrived on the evening without a booking but they managed to find us a great table and couldn't have been more accommodating. The food was superb - I have never had prawn toast that good anywhere! The service was friendly and excellent and the bill even with champagne was very reasonable for what we had. At lunch time they do a £10 menu that includes a glass of wine and again we were totally impressed with the quality of the food and service. The glass of wine was surprisingly good for house wine and I can see this restaurant becomming a regular eating place. Highly recommended.

Cannot fault the place.

We arrived from the cold and where ushered to the "bar" ablebit small area where our coats were taken and menu's provided. We ordered food and drinks here and 10 mins later we were escorted upstairs and found our starters waiting for us at out table. main course arrived with good time between courses.

At the end of the evening, our coats were bought back to our table... not sure how they remembered with and restaurant full of peolple.

Service was excellent and very attentive. This place really did focus on good food, and good customer service.

Would happily return
