Went 12th July 2008. Found the food to be really, really bland and tasteless. Second worst Thai meal I've ever eaten. Won't go back.

I went to this restaurant this weekend gone and had a fantastic meal. Had a mixed starter of mini spring roles, seaweed ect followed by sea bass, ribs and egg fried rice. I really found the food very tasty and would deffinately reccomend it to others. Look forward to going back next time we are in Brighton !

My girlfriend and I both love Thai food. Having been to Thailand, we know our food and have had some fantastic Thai meals in Brighton. We went to Sawadee on the recommendation of a friend and all in all it was ok. The service was good and the staff friendly. The starters were nice and came out quickly. For our main we had a duck red curry and a favourite of ours, Plah Rah Prig, cod in a chilli sauce. The duck was well cooked and deliciously tender. The fish on the other hand was bizarre. There was not much cod in the portion and the sauce tasted like what only can be described as baked beans. The meal was reasonably priced at less than £20 a head with wine and that included 10% service charge. With so many fantastic places to eat in Brighton, especially Thai’s I don’t think we will be going there again and would not recommend it.

We went to this restaurant yesterday for our wedding anniversary meal, we were very happy with the food and the service and will definitely travel the 35 miles to go again!

I have read some of the negative reviews and can only imagine that the chef and service staff have changed, the food was 100% Thai and the flavours were brilliant, the waitress was very talkative and attended immediately, and was knowledgeable about the menu. The price of the meal was less than I expected to pay so another thumbs up for that.

Highly recommended and I can't wait to go back.

I and my parther have rarely been to a Thai restaurand and left disappointed. Our starters were good and arrived promptly as did our bottle of reasonable priced Pino Grigio. So far so good but it was all downhill from thereon. We waited over an hour for our main course (beef, pork and vegetable dishes), drank our wine and had to order another 1/2 bottle to have with the meal. After several apologies from the waitresses, the main course arrived. The beef dish was dry and flavourless and the pork dish was very fatty and swimming in grease. We complained to the staff who said they would menion it to the chef. Our bill arrived and included the service charge, which we refused to pay. Some sort of gesture to offer us to reduce the price would have been welcomed but that did not happen. Definitely a no go restaurant for us in the future.

My partner and I visted Sawadee on a monday evening, the resturaunt was quite busy and full of atmosphere. The service was very good and friendly. The food was out of this world. We had a set meal and all of the dishes were lovely, it really was the best thai I've ever had and my partner agreed. The wine was lovely too. Reasonably priced too. Highly recommended!

DON'T EVEN BOTHER. Having lived in Thailand and knowing my 'authentic' thai dishes I was very disappointed with the food here. Don't try the larb moo salad - its stir fried pork with no flavours added. It sat in its own fatty juices and repeated on me all night.....no sign of the mint, tangy sauce, salad or crushed rice which the dish should usually have. I had to send the dish back. The staff weren't thai and I doubt the chef was thai given the standard of the food. Absolutely awful service and NOT what I would expect from a restaurant calling itself a thai restaurant....I could cook better food at home than this place.

We had booked a table for a group of 9 of us. We ordered 3 of the selection startes to share and 4 arrived. Two main meals did not arrrive, one arrived after prompting but the other took some 5mins more by which time the accommpanying rice was cold. The servive was really poor, we constantly asked for tap water but when we eventually got some it was only 4 glasses. We had to ask for the bill 3 times and it took over 30mins to get, when it arrived everything was illegibly scribbled on it so we could not check it.

Whislt the food was pleasant the very poor service completley let the venue down - it wasn't even particularly busy, I would not recommend it or eat there again.
