I went here with a large group and would never return! The food I had was very poor value for money. It was bland and so oily that I was unable to eat it. Others in the group found their food average at best and all agreed that much better food, service and value for money can be found in most other eateries in Brighton and Hove. I am baffled by all the positive reviews on here!

Great Italian restaurant. Toni and her staff are brilliant, the food and wine is excellent. We have always had a warm & friendly welcome since day one. Have been using Topolinos for over a year now and wouldn't go anywhere else.. Can't fault the fillet steak, pizza and pasta dishes. Try it for yourself and you won't be diddapointed. It's a very popular restaurant.

we ate here tonight and the first thing we noticed was the smell of smoke. I dont think I am overly sensitive to smoke but it was obvious. They went to seat us in the awning area, where the smoke was really very strong and stated it was the non-smoking area they were putting us. The only separation was where two awnings meet! We asked to be seated inside & they duly put us at a table furthest away from awning. The smoke smell was still there but manageable.

The food was average for an italian. £8 for a pizza, £10 for a fairly plain pasta dish. Slightly more expensive than average.

The service was good and staff were friendly. There were only 4 tables with customers when we arrived.

This is the best Italian in town – it suits all budgets and they have a great selection of wine and food.

What is great they are one of the few restaurants to cater for smokers; since the smoking ban I along with many of my smoking friends don’t tend to eat or drink out much (as you will know it is no fun leaving the table between courses just to smoke outside).

It has an outside awning along with heated lamps and blankets for your comfort – we always have a giggle when we go for food, I love the fact that when we arrive we can stay put until its time to leave and there is no pressure to move you on either.

The staffs have always been excellent and are very attentive to your needs.

It’s a shame the non-smokers (previous review!) felt the smoke drifting in – bit dramatic I feel, when you see the way they have set up the restaurant you will be able to see it is not really possible for the smoke to affect the diners inside so don’t let the smokers awning put you off you will be missing out on a great dining experience!

This is a great little restaurant. Good food and pleasant service. The decor could do with updating as the tables are reminiscent of a cafe rather than an evening restaurant but the atmosphere was decent. The big bonus is they offer gluten-free pasta for their pasta dishes, which is a rarity.

The only major drawback was that the 'outdoor' seating was covered with a fully-encompassing awning, and I was extremely surprised to see people smoking in there. I am very very glad I didn't sit out there as it seemed to be accepted and even encouraged with ashtrays on many of the tables. With 100% covering there was nowhere for the smoke to go and some of it did seep around and towards our table, which was inside. It's a shame as I feel it somewhat spoils the place.
