Had a lovely meal good service. It was my mums birthday and they sang and made a real fuss . You never come out hungry and its good value.

my kids 2nd home its otellos.the food its so lovely and the service it very good..staff are friendly and i have to say the son's owner his really really good with the a kids.we love it,GO TO OTELLO'S IT'S REALLY GOOD.

This reataurant has gone downhill in the last few years. We used to love going here, the menu was attractive, the food excellent and the staff attentive and efficient.

We paid a visit yesterday, the staff didn't show us to oyr table, just waved an arm in the general direction. The menu was uninspiring and when we sat down and found the table smeared, we decided not to waste any more time and left.

I'm a big fan of Italian food, but unfortunately this was far from adequate. I ordered spaghetti and clams: the cook committed the cardinal Italian sin of overcooking the pasta and the dish lacked the fragrance of fresh seafood, which indicates to me that the clams came out of a tin. Disappointing.

Unfortunately over cooked soggy pasta and tasteless sauce. Starters good and service fine. But food is not up to scratch. Shame as atmosphere and price is good.

My Wife and I have eaten at most of the Italian restaurants in Hove and Brighton, and were looking for somewhere to have lunch with our 1yr old Daughter.

Having read the somewhat mixed reviews on here, I decided to risk it and give Otello's a go for the first time.

Glad I did - I'm comfortable in saying that it's the best Italian meal I've eaten, period, in this country. My Wife is of the same opinion - arguably the best Italian in town...

Service was attentive, professional and friendly - we were made to feel welcome, and our 1yr old daughter was made a fuss of (despite it being a busy saturday lunchtime) - another nice touch here was that her main (kids pizza) arrived with our starters, so she had something to get on with, whilst we could enjoy our starters.

Food was excellent - beautifully presented, piping hot, fresh, and arrived very promptly. The Kids Menu pizza, so often the weak point of so many 'family' restaurants, was excellent.

Atmosphere very good - lots of young families.

Acoustics very good also - despite being busy and noisy we could hear everything that was said at the table.

We'll certainly be going back again!!

Highly recommended.

been here lots of times, a place for a good pizza (clay oven) or pasta, proper meals are very good too, nice atmosphere, would visit again.

When friends booked a table for our two families, having not visited before, I was a bit apprehensive after reading the last two reviews.

But we were pleasantly surprised. Serice was attentive, everyones food was appetising and arrived in good time.

Despite being a very wet Friday evening, the restaurant was 2/3 full when we arrived at 7:30pm, and there was a good atmosphere.

Food was reasonable value, but the only gripe we had was a charge of £4.95 for a childs portion of ice cream.

We are most likley to be making a return visit

Myself and my family are also unimpressed by the staff at this restaurant.

The service tonight was very hurried. The food seemed to be slapped down on our the table and snatched away once we had finished. Some of our orders took ages to arrive and when we made a polite enquiry as to how long it would be the response was poor.

It's a shame because the atmosphere and food are quite good, but the staff let the place down big time.
