All I can say about this restaurant is that, it's the BEST.I have eaten in almost all the restaurants in church road hove, but i none of them comes closer to ORSINO.
GOOD FOOD, GOOD WINE, AND GREAT VALUE.
ThankS God for ORSINO.

I ate at Orsino 2 weeks ago on 301006. I went after work with 3 friends about 6pm. I was surprised that it was quiet busy at that time. Were going on the recommendation of a friend who had been their a month previous and had had the early bird menu which is only available between 5pm to 7pm. The menu was excellent value at only £7 + 10%sc, for 3 course. I had the garlic bread along with 1 friend and my other 2 friends had soup, and another greek salad. Main course was lasagne, or pizza or pasta, and to finish tiramsu. We shared a san pellegrino and a bottle of frascati. To finish coffe all round. What excellent value. The portions were a good size, but slightly smaller that the normal ala carte menu, but we were stuffed, and enjoyed it tremendously. The waiter informed us that the early bird menu is also on Tuesday £8 and Wednesday £9, but varies from week to week, but is not available in December, as they are very busy with xmas bookings. Definetly worth a visit.

I never usually write any review about a restaurant that I eat at (Good OR Bad) however on this occasion I realy felt the need to express how marvelous an evening we had at ORSINO. We arrived at 8.00pm to a buzzy pracically full restaurant, thank goodness we booked. We waited 5 minutes at the bar, while our table was being prepared. The choice of starters was excellent, as was the variety of main course, pasta and pizza, so there was something to please everyone in my party of 8 people. I just have to say that the mussels, and the brie were excellent, the simply grilled fillet steak was cooked to perfection, and the chocolate souffle warm with vanilla ice cream was to die for. Absolutely excellent food, Perfect service, and buzzy atmosphere. We throughly enjoyed our evening, although service was included at 10% which quiet resonable compared to some restaurants in brighton and hove who charge 12%, I felt that I still wanted to leave a good TIP for the waiters that served us. Money well spent. Will definetly book and be back very soon.

I dined here a few weeks ago with my wife and 3 colleagues.. We were taken to our table by a friendly and cheerful waiter, whos service was above excellent!
The orders did take a while, but the wait was well worth it. I had chicken breast which tasted fabulous and could not hesitate to indulge in a tasting of my wife's pasta, which was delicious.
Definately recommended!

My wife recently booked a table for us to have dinner - a recent Friday evening at 8pm. We made it there at about ten past to be told that they wouldn't have our table ready 'for a while'.
When I tried to get them to be a bit more specific... was 'a while' nearer to 5 or 30 minutes? he replied it'd be more like 40.
I suggested to him that this was unacceptable, explaining that while I appreciated that they are a busy restaurant, they have been around for a while now and so should be aware of roughly how long they should leave between bookings - so as to avoid a long wait for any of their customers.
He rudely informed me that we could eat elsewhere... so we did.
Leonardo's - 5 minutes up the road towards Palmeira Square, catered not only for my wife and I turning up unannounced on a Friday evening, but also served excellent food, quickly, and with a smile.
Go to Leonardo's, not Orsino's.

DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS RESTURANT. I ate at this resturant last week (240806). Although the decor is deceptive in style, the food was very poor, the service took over one hour before starters. The chicken starter would not come off the stick because it was so over cooked. The rare steak came well well done and was sent back. The side vegetables are obviously cooked in large batches. The sauces were clumsy and probably prepared. I should have expected this for a menu with over 50 choices.
ON QUIETLY mentioning this to the floor manager, he then came to the table to single me out as complaining. Making the whole experience very embarassing. I then suggested we would not pay the service charge, at which he came over and slammed the bill and monies on the table and said you sort it out and lied that I had shouted at him. Fortunately my colleagues know me better. All together appauling experience, not to be repeated

Went for lunch at Orsino last week, having eaten there before. While the decor and menu choices are very good, I was served a meal which had 'off' fruit on it. The meal was sent back, no apology was offered, then the waiter came and tried to persuade me it was OK to eat!
When my companion had finished her meal, the waitress told us they were only going to charge us for one meal (my meal had not been eaten at all), but that the Chef had told her to say the food was OK. Again no apology was offered. You really couldn't make this sort of thing up. I eat out a lot and am always impressed with the standards of service and food I get in Brighton and Hove. Needless to say, I won't be eating at Orsino again.
