Ate here last night with three friends. Friendly, quick service. Two of us had steaks which were very good. In my opinion the rest of the food was of poor quality, with small portions and very expensive for what you got. Wouldnt go back.

Been there about 6-7 times over the past 4 years, and always had a great meal. Service can be a bit slow at times but the food has always been worth the wait. I agree with most others on here in saying that the weekends (evenings) can be a bit full on with stag/hen/birthday parties, and best avoided.
If 'tex-mex' is what you are looking for in Hove, then I could not recommend a better restaurant. Las Iguanas on Jubilee Street street is a great alternative if you wish to hit Brighton centre.

came here for a meal on saturday eve. The service was very slow we had to wait a while for our drinks and then at least 20 mins before our order was taken for food. We orderd nachos to start and when they arrived it was a small portion not enough for 2, main course was mixed combo fahitas no real taste to them and a tiny portion of sour cream, guccamole, and salsa definately not enough for 1 person let alone 2 people to put on 5 fahitas. We asked for extra sauces and were annoyed that this was then charged to the bill. if we had ordered 2 seperate fahitas we would of rec'd 2 seperate sauces. the service was very slow and unfriendly would never eat here again.

Loved it on my first visit with my boyfriend- the paella was delicious, the atmosphere good and the service friendly. In fact, we couldn't wait to go back. My second visit was almost as good an experience and I took along three friends who all agreed the food was good ,especially the tacos. On my third visit, however, I was so disappointed. The service was friendly but they failed to tell us that they had run out of the cream cheese jalepenos that I ordered expectantly for starter. On receiving my starter I pleasantly asked why they had given me cream cheese potato croquettes but no jalepenos. Apologeticlly she explained they had run out. Why didn't they tell me when I ordered? I was disgusted. I should have complained at this point but I kept quiet as not to upset things. On receiving our main courses we were equally let down. The seafood in our paella was so overdone and very dry. I'm not fussed about returning.

Went there a few weeks ago and was very disappointed!!
Menu was expansive but perhaps the restaurant goes for quantity of dishes available rather than quality.
Portions were small. Nachos to share for the table was barely enough for two people never mind 4 people. Food was not fresh, chicken was barely cooked and was sent back. Veg was limp!
Wouldnt go back. I have eaten in alot of restaurants in Brighton + Hove over the years and this would be in the bottom 5.
For approx £30 a head for 3 courses and wine, you can get a lot better in B+H.
I am surprised to write this bad review as most of the others are positive. Maybe we just went on a bad night.

Great food and, contrary to a previous review, we always walk out really full, usually unable to eat a dessert.
Good, friendly, prompt service. But we always avoid the evenings at weekends, as the restaurants tends to go into full party mode. If you're going to go then, I suggest eating earlier and making sure you book ahead.

There are the normal Mexican type dishes but also a large number of European dishes to if you prefer that. The variety of the menue is impressive. The food was excellant and very good value and the waitress was more than happy to talk through the wine list and was very helpful. I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

Went on Saturday with 5 friends for a birthday meal. All were starving. The food and atmosphere didn't disappoint. The service was prompt and not intrusive and staff were happy to help us celebrate with candles in derserts and sombraro's for the birthday boys.
I have eaten here several times now over several years. I remember the food being good the first time as indeed it was the second, but perhaps the portions were bigger in the past? We ordered Nacho's "for the table" to start us off whilst we perused the menu and what turned up was a rather pathetic portion for 5 people to share. The Gambas starter was lovely, but again a bit small. The mains were nice, but again, I'm sure mine was a bigger portion in the past.
This place is ideal if you want a fun night out with friends as the atmosphere allows you to have a laugh and a drink but is civilised enough so that it keeps the riff raff out. The food is good and filling, but it wont set the world on fire. Perhaps they could introduce one or two specials that are a bit more exotic, but then again they may know their market as the place is always busy with its current menu.
Well worth a visit
