Los Amigos

For me and my wife the best resaurant in brighton, with some of the tastiest dishes ive ever had, been to mexico on holiday a few years ago and the food at los amigos is a different level great atmosphere and even better service. usually get the fajitas or the steak which has never let us down, went on Tuesday for the "tuesday tapas" with a great selection and great valve for me and my wife which we shared for only £15, the strawberry chessecake is also to die for.

Horrid Dinner

My partner and I decided we fancied mexican and as we have just moved in round the corner thought we would try our local Los Amigos. What a mistake that was.

Whilst one waitress, a youngish lady was helpful and pleasant she was over worked whilst another, seemingly in charge floated about with classic signs of myopia. Please note she caused the 2 service score, the younger lady was at least a 7.

The prawn starter I had was very nice but my partners natchos which we shared were bland but passable. The bottle of wine we had was also nice.

Then came the main course. We opted for chicken fahijtas and were both looking forward to them. Unfortunatly they were completely soaked in lemon juice for some reason.

When we pointed this out to the older lady after trying one and asking her to try them herself to see what we meant we were told it was our fault as we had not used the spices.

I pointed out to her that sour cream, chopped tomato that was passing for salsa and a grey wallpaper paste of a guacomole had no spice in whatsoever and was told again it was my fault as I clearly didnt like lemon. Now I love lemon, but I dont like fahijtas to taste like a gin and tonic, sorry!

In all horrid food, horrid service and overpriced.
