Dig in the Ribs Restaurant In Brighton

Can't really review the food here - we waited 2 hours during which time we got some lame excuses for a starter, and then one main (out of 8). No sparkling water, run out of lager, that course is not available etc etc.

Eventually when I complained we were asked to leave. First time in 25 years I've been thrown out of a restaurant! Don't touch this place.

For the last twelve years I have regularly gone to Dig in the Ribs about once a month as I love the place so much. Went there on Sunday with my daughter WELL, what an absolutely let down. Howard’s bread (their garlic bread with cheese) was god awful and so small, not even two mouthfuls and it was disgusting, there was no garlic and very little bread. I complained and was told it wasnt their fault as it wasn’t made on site and its bought like it, and they tried to palm more onto me!!! Then the main course came, we ordered bones and wings and also the potato scalps with what was supposed to be cheese and other yummy stuff inside, I laughed and stared in disbelief. I think the bones were the rig cage of a small malnourished animal, the wings were from a sparrow and the potato had a filling feeling in the stomach because it wasn’t properly cooked. The drink was nice at least, and they took the service charge off my bill. Thank heavens for small mercies. I will never go there whilst the new owners are in situ, they are rubbish at customer service and the food now sounds like its heated and not cooked on site. Well "Dig in the Ribs", more like "Slap in the Face"

i have always liked dig in the ribs and have visited many times, the food was always great, bit pricy but worth it...that is until i went for my birthday meal.we ordered and recieved drinks and were then told there was no t-bone steak, thats why i go !i have to settle for a smaller steak omiting the sauce.there was no apology from the staff.even the howards bread wasnt up to scratch, thats unusual.we didnt order dessert,we left early.dig in the ribs also add on service charge so you are morealess forced to pay for bad service, which is more than you would

leave tip ,i think thats cheeky.i have 2 kids under 3 and nights out are very rare,(hence birthday)and this one was spoiled, will not be visting again and would no longer recommend to others.

Went a meal last week, and as soon as me and my friends walked in realised something was diffent. Food was beyond terrible, service was appalling. I then asked if it had been taken over and the reply was of course YES. They have not got a clue and do not seem to care either. All the lovely old staff are gone with a bunch of money hungry owners to replace them. We also refused to pay for all our main courses as they were cold or wrong. Very cross as it spoilt a lovely night out with my freinds.

Visited here recently and had the worst meal ever. The service was c**p, there was no atmosphere, and the food was awful. One meal was served with raw onions and raw mushrooms when the dish was described to be sizzling - Food was so bad we refused to pay.

A real shame as this used to be a great restaurant - I would now not recommend this place to anyone.

Went there recently and was very disappointed. Food didn't have much taste, the portions were quite small and everything was very pricy. The service was very poor too. I don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone

Went here recently with a friend and was sorely dissapointed after so many great visits. The service was absolutely diabolical, especially so since we were one of the only people in there. My order of surf and turf was a mistake, the meat was served medium rather than rare and the "tiger prawns" were more like a packet of small atlantic prawns and were well over cooked, rendering them chewy and tasteless. My friend ordered the the full rack of ribs and these were also dissapointing, tough and chewy. The stuffed jalepenos starter was excellent, I should add. I would think twice about returning.

I love this restaurant. I've been back so many times and always had a great meal. Large portions, hearty food, no fuss and great cocktail pitchers. Fantastic for a large group of people for a Birthday/Bridal Shower etc. The staff have always been really friendly too.
