Dig in the Ribs Restaurant In Brighton

your comments review this restaurant

horrendous ribs. if Ribs is their specialty, then they take their customers for fools because it's over priced and subpar food. I was served really dry, tasteless ribs. probably overheated or from overfreezing. My friend ordered a steak that was served in 2 bits. not to mention the BBQ sauce and even Ketchup were nasty. you'd think they'd invest in some good BBQ sauce at a place like this. A chef with integrity would not serve any of that and charge 22 quid. After this experience, on a pleasant day by the beach, the last thing i want to dig into are the ribs. Would not recommend if you want your dining experience ruined and felt like you were robbed.

We went to Digs on Friday 22 July. In a word.....HIDEOUS. The quality of the food was beyond poor, no doubt it was microwaved. The chicken wings were salty and the bones crumbled (how fresh were they??)

The ribs, I would not want to give to my dogs, heated up, tasteless, they were grey,,,,,,,,,DISGUSTING.

What a waste of money, and a real shame, great concept for a restaurant, but an opportunity gone begging.

DO NOT GO THERE.

went to digs the other night... the food was absolutely shocking. this establishment used to be right up there in Brighton, now its become a complete joke. theyre was many of us and ALL of our dishes came out cold and terrible to say the least. the chicken tasted very old and microwaved without a doubt. the rice was microwaved and very dry. the ribs tasted terrible, could have been donkey meat for all we knew. the fajitas resembled something my 5 year old daughter could have cooked.. if im being kind.

the drinks were ridiculously expensive- 4.40 for a bottle of beer thats RIDICULOUS. no restaurants charge that much. the coke that my wife had was completely watered down and obviously refused to pay for it, i mean who waters down coke?! was a very enfuriating evening at digs, to top it off the floor staff were some young inexperienced teenagers AND a compulsory 10 per cent service charge was applied to our bill and the manager was a very very rude and inappropiate individual! shocker of a night at digs and would not recommend going in the slightest- not quite the fabulous tex mex diner the restaurant once used to be under the older owners, such a shame!

I feel kind of bad writing another negative review buuut, this was seriously the worst restaurant I've ever been to.

Everything was bad including my drink. This type of food is amazing, and it's such a shame they've done it a terrible injustice.

The staff was nice.

Couldn't decide what to eat tonight so went to DITR as it was quite good a number of years ago. ATROCIOUS. Do not go to this restaurant. Absolutely terrible food, cold and looked like any sub-par frozen food you get in the supermarket. Ordered the Tequila & Lime Steak Medium Rare, came Well Done and not with rice and beans but with chips and salad that was far from fresh. Also ordered Tex Mex Platter and there was no corn cobettes and the food was all cold. Waitress was sweet but not very attentive. Sangria was good but that was about it. Very unfortunate. This is NOT real Mexican, or Latin, or Tex Mex, or American food. Not even close. It was also EXTREMELY expensive for the disappointment that was served. Minus zero stars.

Been 10 years since last eating here and probably be another 10 years to forget about this time. Nacho platter for two with beef mince was nice but if you've ever eaten mexican in USA, then don't expect anything like that! If you like lots of salted nachos with everything... this is the place for you.

Food nothing to rave about and I think I've had better at Harvester... Bottles of Bud changed from 330cl to 300cl multi pack bottles when reordering but price charged for 330cl. Multi pack bottles being sold at full price is just wrong. They are smaller and have 'not for resale' on side for a reason guys!!!!! As you weren't giving them away for free, I'm sure Trading standards will be interested in this one! Took picture of them if you want proof!

Service charge description on menu said 5+ people and automatically added to bill... even with only 2 people had 10% added to bill automatically in reality.

There are nicer places to eat in Brighton than this place...

I'm surprised to read negative reviews regarding this restaurant, I must say I had a wonderful dining experience. I was there for a date and thought that the service was very good (we were served complimentary chips and dips the moment we sat down). Atmosphere and music was also very pleasant. We ordered the Natchos Platos to share, and would definitely recommend it for starters. For mains I had a full rack while my girlfriend had a Beef Tacos- the portions were definitely very generous- we were completely stuffed! Would definitely recommend Dig In The Ribs to anyone on the lookout for a Tex-Mex dining experience.

This has got to be one of the worst restaurants in Brighton & Hove. It must give a terrible impression of the food in Brighton when the mostly tourist trade waste their money in there.

I had the misfortune of visiting this place with a group of 8 celebrating a friend's birthday. It was a bit impromptu and I was very concerned when I found out we were going to D&G.

It was an absolute disaster. There was not enough staff to cope. The manager was hopeless and rude to members of our party. The food was appalling. Whoever was cooking the food had no idea of the rubbish he/she was doling out. A lot of it looked as it came from a freezer and microwaved. Ingredients were missing from the actual description of each dish. We sent most of the food back and actually refused to pay for returned dishes which infuriated the manager. It started off a row with several members of our group but we held our ground and we left and walked down to China China and had a far better meal there.

This once celebrated and loved restaurant is not so much a "Dig in the Ribs" these days but more of an awful "Knee in the Crotch".

I never want to step foot into this terrible establishment again. EVER.

Well where do I start?? I would NEVER ever recommend this restaurent (if that's what you call it!!!) me and six friends went here for my birthday against my sister telling me it was awful and overpriced ( I so wish I had taken her advice) for starters we had digs bread which was supposedly their version of garlic bread with cheese, I'm not sure if they had run out of garlic but there certainly wasn't any in mine!!! Just greasy melted cheese. My partner had buffalo wings which were dripping in grease which was apparently dipped in butter!! HEART ATTACK CENTRAL!! For main I had the t-bone steak which I asked to be VERY well done and arrived still mooing on my plate!! My friends also still mooing and blood swamping the plate!! Two of the boys had ribs which looked as tough as leather and as dry as a bone ( pardon the pun!!) awful, and the burgers were so charred my friend said it was like eating ash! The bill arrived at a whopping £171 I nearly choked! We all complained and told the manager we were only prepared to pay £20 a head and even that was being generous!! No surprise we didn't hang around to even look at the dessert menu, all in all a very disappointing experience and shall not be returning nor ever recommending this establishment to anybody. Very gutted customer :(

Being here several times before and found he food and service excellent i didnt hesitate to take my partner there for his 40th birthday along with our 4 children, this restaurant had "one of the best places to take children" review written about it in a magazine. However on friday 4th June 2010,we went along to find the menu had changed,no childrens menu available, poor quality food and a massive bill to end it all.the girls started off with watery flat coke, followed by our starters which my partner didnt get,the main meals were disgusting, girls had burrittos, yuk, tortilla, ovrflowing with mushy rice, tough chicken and black beans,i had jerk chicken,2 measly thighs which had less meat then a sparrows leg,and a pile of again mushy rice, really bad seen as we'ed only arrived just after opening,my partner had a whole rack of ribs which have certainley shrunk from last time, they hung ovr the plate on our last visit, the bill was £106,so annoyed and shocked we paid and left, only to visit macdonalds to get the kids some food as they were so hungry, best stick to nandos next time, cant go wrong with them
