I'd heard good things about the variety of ale at this pub which is why we chose to visit, however most of the pumps were off, and the manager clearly had no idea how to treat the beer so it's up to standard.

The menu looked enticing however it was clear the pub couldn't cope with the amount of hungry lunch-timers, and after an hour's wait, we were served with luke-warm roasts..with cold mulled cider to wash it down with!

Terrible service, with an unfriendly atmosphere, obviously catering only for those new to Brighton coming down from the station who are unaware of anywhere better to visit.

I absolutely adore this place and love the fact that it's 10 minutes walk from where we live.

Being new to the area I was google searching for pubs with good vegetarian food and couldn't believe that there was a pub (on our doorstep) that just served vegetarian food.

In 4 months we have sampled most things on the menu and they have all been excellent - my husband is a big fan of the burritos and veggie burgers while I highly recommend the (huge!) Ploughmans or veggie sausage sandwich.

The costs are very reasonable for pub food and they do a great selection of ales. There's a secluded little courtyard at the back which has been perfect for summer and the pub has a really cosy feel for winter. The staff are always super friendly and helpful too.

Definitely my favourite pub in Brighton!

I went to george on sunday (8TH NOV) and found the place great. I had a sunday roast, it was amazin. They do a special on the sunday roasts called 'The Big Boy', and it certainly was. they put a bit of each roast all onto one plate with all the trimmings and at £10.25 it was well worth the money.

Will definately be going back soon, staff were nice and friendly and it had a great atmosphere about the place

I agree with your review, the George used to be great for food, but everytime in the last couple of years I have been it has been a real disappointment!!

We were given something completely different to what we ordered, and when we complained were just told that they had run out of dish we had ordered!
