Honest well cooked french and spannish food .Good ingredients sensible prices and a great ambience, was packed on a wednesday when we were there due to a special offer with the local paper but the service was freindly and efficient,we even got to talk to the chef owner who made us laugh telling us stories about some of the more eccentric customers they get, will definately go back.

Never again. Food was pompously overstated, staff were shockingly rude. Owner was openly rude to guests, including me. Their website name-drops celebs as if cooking for 'a-listers' automatically gives you the right to claim your food is quality. Save your money.

I'm sorry to say that La Marinade was a bit of a let down. I've heard such good things about it so maybe we were just unlucky. The service was friendly but very slow. The kitchen is not ventilated well enough and filled the restaurant air with cooking oil, so our eyes were watering. The food was mediocre and the owner snubbed us making us feel uncomfortable. We left paying a hefty bill and feeling let down.

What a lovely change, a friendly family run restaurant in Brighton. I must admit that when it comes to eating out I usually forget I live in Brighton and head back to London. This is mainly because I know the good restaurants, where I can eat food that it is not yesterday’s heated through in a microwave. La Marinade lived up to its name, with the kind of freshly made food that gave you the feel that you were eating out in Paris. My partner was impressed with the Sirloin beef and truffle shavings, which guaranteed me a great evening. Can’t wait to go back!!!

La Marinade has been in our top ten restaurants in Brighton ever since we discovered Nicks amazing ability to make anything cooked taste delicious.
We have a small hotel and La Marinade is one of the fine dining restaurants we regularly recommend. The following day we are invariably thanked by satisfied guests.
This is a particularly Brighton restaurant with engaging staff, interesting food and some fine wines. It is surprising to read reviews where people who want to pay £5.00 a head on an offer are expecting starched white tablecloths. This is a charming undiscovered restaurant in Kemp Town that consistently invents and innovates with its food and is run with enthusiasm and passion.
It’s a good place for a celebration and a lovely place for a dinner party. We go because sometimes it is nice just to treat yourself.

With 2 children and a baby eating out is a hit or miss experience - at la marinade it was definitely a hit. We were looked after like royalty, everyone of us finished our food (even the fussy toddler)and my husband and I came away feeling relaxed and satisfied (which may have had something to do with wine which came from an excellent list - so my husband "the wine buff" told me.

I wonder if the previous reviewers went to the same restaurant! My friends and I visited on Saturday and enjoyed a great evening, delicious, well presented food, fun/friendly service, reasonably priced wine. What's not to like?!? Go, make your own mind up.....

I went to the Marinade for a five pound meal last wednesday. I've been a couple of times before, paying full price and what was great for my wife and I, was that you hardly noticed the difference. How the chef manages to make money cooking such delicious food for only a fiver I don't know.
I had a lamb dish that was really succulent and bursting with flavour. My wife had guinea fowl which was lovely and crispy on the outside and had a fantastic sauce with it.
Service was friendly and efficient and an added bonus was that the place was full of 'slebs' the doctor from coronation street was in there, as was an actor from Prime Suspect and someone at another table told me they'd seen Cate Blanchet in there a few weeks ago - and all for a fiver !
We'll certainly go again.
