three little letters sum this place up - WOW! Myself and my partner came down from London and decided to eat here after reading these reviews. We were so impressed, we will def come down to Brighton just to eat here! We had the lunch, which for £14 for 2 course was exceptional value. The chef sent out an appetiser of apple and celery soup, which, I can honestly say is the best thing I have ever tasted. My pork belly was succulent, with a huge amount of meat and crackling, and as for the almond macaroon with vanilla custard - I thought I had died and gone to heaven. The 'custard' was a delicate, whipped to perfection sauce flavoured with fresh vanilla, and the macaroon was filled with a devine thick and rich chocolate cream. Making me drool think about it. Go to this restaurant - its a credit to Brighton.

Possibly the best resterant in Brighton. The food is excellent, every dish served impressed! The little touches like the appetizers and fresh bread on your table are a well thought out touch. Service polite and helpful. Atmosphere sophisticated, romantic yet relaxed. And very reasonably priced! We have been several times both as a couple and with parents and would highly recomend.

I agree with all the other reviews. The outside of this resturant does not do the culinary delights inside justice. The staff were very freindly the atmosphere was great. The food was to die for especialy the foie gras. The wine list is very sensatively priced with some great wines. A nice touch were the appetizers.

Generaly a great place to eat.

Superbly presented, properly cooked, excellent service, lovely atmosphere, wines really, really good - only issue I would mention is that on the night we visited, the chef seemed to have over-salted every single dish! There were 4 of us, and everyone commented on the salt levels on the starters and main courses! The flavours were excellent, and didn't need any additional salt at all. Meals should have been closer to a 9 if this hadn't been an issue. Otherwise an excellent meal, and we'd be willing to repeat a visit, on the off chance that the salt cellar had been emptied first, before chef got near it!

The Gingerman does not portray from the outside the culinary delights inside! The food and wine were excellent as was the service. Nice touches such as a meatball appetiser and home baked breads added to a very enjoyable couple of hours, coupled with a very reasonably priced menu.

This is definately a restaurant worth going to. We picked it on the strength of the reviews here and we weren't disappinted at all. The food was lovely and didn't suffer from the annoyingly small portions that some restaurants seem to favour. It was great value for money too, under £70 for two people on the three course menu, and the staff were all lovely.

This was the second time I've eaten at The Gingerman and has further secured it as my favourite restaurant in Brighton. The food is absolutely excellent, consistently delicious, while the service is exactly the right balance of friendly and discreet and the place itself is intimate, smart and comfortable without a hint of pretention. We went for the set lunch menu, which is just amazing value at £14 for two courses - there are a whole host of places in Brighton where you could pay the same for a fraction of the quality. Will definitely be returning, as frequently as possible!

A wonderful night was had by my wife and me. This was one of the best meals that we have had in Brighton. The service was frindly and fast and the food was to die for. In fact, if I was the only one in the restaurant, I would have licked my plate clean. Highly recommended.

I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough, I can honestly say it was the best meal I have ever had. All three courses were delicious; the staff are polite, friendly and efficient.
