I have been several times over the past 2 years.
Always good service usually the same waiters/waitresses.
Always good and interesting food.
Always good value.
Perhaps a little cramped but definitely one of the best places to eat in Brighton. I would say the best but there are a few I have'nt tried yet.k

Having visited somewhere else for my birthday which markets itself as fine dining, how I wish i had gone here. the best meal I have had in my 4 years in B&H. One of those meals where everyone is exclaiming " you have got to try this". the service was professional and discreet and very hepful explaining items on the menu. The atmosphere was relaxed and intimate with tables appropriately spaced. Just absolutely wonderful there was nothing to fault or improve upon.

not as good as it thinks it is.
nice food, sloppy service. 3 bottles of wine out of six opened were off, explained only by the comment "we've had some trouble with this one" which didn't really sound like an apology. sure these things happen, but at £50 per head one does expect good service.
the room is shabby and needs a refurb - perhaps the new venture "ginger pig" will be the place to go for whilst attention is turned from existing restaurants to it.

Just wanted to add to the praise. Ate there last week, great food, really tasty and friendly service. Will be back again soon. Pity no vegetarian main course, as would like to take family there, but perfect for meat and fish.

Excellent restaurant. Food was of a high standard and tasted great. Service was also excellent, with a nice buzz to the place. £24 for two courses or £27 for three. A bottle of good rose wine was £21.

Still one of the best restaurants in Brighton and Hove - and that's saying something when there's so many of them to choose from. The menu changes on a frequent enough basis to make it a different experience each time, even if you are a regular diner. Not the biggest restaurant in town, but certainly the biggest satisfaction rating.
Without going into too much detail, the food is absolutely fantastic, the service is polite and attentive without being intrusive, and you'll soon wish you'd discovered this gem years ago.
Book in advance as they are always busy - another good sign.

Superb atmosphere[small and cosy] Superb Service [helpful yet unobtrusive], Superb Food[all 3 courses were great, good selection, all meat and fish cooked to perfection, meal portions just right ; we were full, but not stuffed]
Our First visit, all 4 of us enjoyed all three courses, PLUS the small appetizer and the lovely home made bread - it's the little touches that make it stand out.
Not cheap but not Mega expensive
Would definately recommend
Be warned - it's Brighton, which means you need to leave a little extra time to find a park !

three little letters sum this place up - WOW! Myself and my partner came down from London and decided to eat here after reading these reviews. We were so impressed, we will def come down to Brighton just to eat here! We had the lunch, which for £14 for 2 course was exceptional value. The chef sent out an appetiser of apple and celery soup, which, I can honestly say is the best thing I have ever tasted. My pork belly was succulent, with a huge amount of meat and crackling, and as for the almond macaroon with vanilla custard - I thought I had died and gone to heaven. The 'custard' was a delicate, whipped to perfection sauce flavoured with fresh vanilla, and the macaroon was filled with a devine thick and rich chocolate cream. Making me drool think about it. Go to this restaurant - its a credit to Brighton.
