Although like many others I also expected Blanch house to be amazing. The big let down is the very rude Brazilian come French waiter who loved to interrupt our conversation wherever possible. When you are paying top dollar for a meal -you don't expect to be interrupted by the staff or for them to feel like they are part of the meal. The food was nice and the selection of wines -excellent. I can only say that I hope they get their act together soon - as the reputation is going under.

We booked into Blanch House after a friend telling it was the best hotel. I could not agree more, as a huge fan of Kemptown and the beach the hotel was in the perfect position.
Our room was beautiful and importantly clean, we had planned to dine out but the whole atmospher of the place made us not want to leave and we were rewarded with an amazing meal.
my starter of seared scallops was perfect fat scallops served with rocket and balsamic whilst Matt enjoyed pigeon breast perfectly cooked and served with quail egg and black pudding. We both went for the sea bass for a main which was fresh and our waiter informed us locally caught. We suffed by dessert but managed to share a lemon grass creme brulee.
The wine list was varied and not too expensive and the staff were wonderful friendly and helpful.
In short you must try it yourself!

The Restaurant at Blanch House is a treasure chest, the food and the staff the jewels.

my boyfriend took me there for a very special dinner. tiny, pretty cocktail bar, attentive service, really good advices on cocktails. the restaurant is looking very stylish. the food was great, probably one of the best in brighton. the waiting staff was very adknowledgeable so is my boyfriend & they ended up discussing wine with a great pleasure.
we went back to the bar after dinner & finished the night chatting with norman cook whom we love!!!!
it was perfect, thank you mark (my boyfriend) & blanch house!

The bar is ok, but the restaurant is awful. They ran out of two of their mains - the menu only has five. Very expensive, and slimey waiting staff.

This is the kind of place for people who still think that words like hip/cool/buzz/trendy are desirable when it comes to hotels and restaurants. What can be worse than paying a fortune for food and drink served by a yob in jeans and trainers? yuk. If this is what hip means you can keep it.
