The food is lovely, but really pricey and the service is really really poor.

When we sat down, they didnt give us the menu till after 10 min - we had to even ask them for the menu. when we ordered our food and drinks, the drinks didnt come till after 30 min. we had to ask for it again. The food came late of course, which was no surprise.

The service was way too slow and it wasnt even busy as it was tuesday night. There was a staff where she just stands around, and when you ask her for anything, she takes about 20 min to come back to you. she just didnt care.

Oh and their music is really loud, I couldnt hear myself. we had to shout at each other to get the message across. And ended up with a head ache

After reading the reviews already posted I was nervous when a friend booked the restaurant for a birthday meal recently. However they have obviously ironed out recent problems as the food was lovely, the service was good and the staff friendly and helpful. There were two babies in pushchairs in our group and high chairs were provided. The woman who I took to be the owner/manager played with the children and actually carried one around for a portion of the evening so daddy could have a break whilst he ate. The food was very tasty and good value. There were nine adults in our group. Everyone had a starter and main, at least one bottle of beer each (though one end of the table chugged away several more) and two bottles of wine (for the whole group not two bottles of wine each!) and it came to £20 each including tip! The place was busy and had a nice atmosphere and I wouldnt hesitate to go again.

To top it all a very attractive curvy woman in full regalia turned up at a couple of points in the evening and graced the restaurant with a Persian belly-dance!!

Quite nice food. But when I sat down I ralised there was service charge so I aksed if they did take away and they said they did and they gave me a take away menu. To my GREAT surprise the prices were lower than the ones on the normal eat in menu. This means that not only that the prices to eat in are higher than the takeaway prices but you also have to pay service charge on top of the higher eat in prices. Therefore double. This is just plain ridicilous. Anyway...I never sat in (in order to avoid services charges and the higher prices), I just had take out. So be warned. I also waited quite some time to order take away.

Kambi's used to be my favourite restaurant in Brighton - great food, friendly staff and BYO. Now it's been taken over and it is, quite frankly, AWFUL. The staff have no idea of service, the food took ages late and when it came the mezze was little more than a lamb burger, we wanted a coffee but gave up after 20 minutes, and they have banned BYO. What a shame, I sincerely hope they read this and get their act together.
