Moshi Moshi Sushi
your comments review this restaurant
Went there last night and I was not impressed. The sushi and rolls are not too bad (at least the fish is fresh enough), even though the California hand roll with crab was actually Surimi... I also find it somewhat shocking to see a ketchup-like sauce on one of the sushi. I did not either understand what a Korean Kimchi-looking small dish is doing is the Moshi-Moshi tasting course... As for the hot food, I have never seen gyoza like that before, a piece a white meat (chicken or pork - hard to tell) in a hard shell crust, far too sweet Teriyaki.... Happily enough the Takara Plum Wine was the only real thing to help you forget that the rest is not.

Despite visiting Brighton regularly for many years, I didn't know about Moshi Moshi until we moved to Brighton just a few months ago as it is slightly hidden off the beaten track in Bartholomew Square.
We ordered a selection of small dishes, a hot dish and vegetarian sushi set and the price was very reasonable for the quality of the food. I also loved that you could get draft Asahi.
I know some previous reviews had criticised the service but we found it to be excellent - helpful but not overbearing on an Saturday evening.
Highly recommend for Japanese food in Brighton.

Visting Brighton for a busy day of shopping, we weren't sure where was good to eat! Moshi Moshi was very active and the diners looked like they were enjoying the food and so we thought we'd give it a go!
What a great decision we made! Very good food at very good prices. We found the staff helpful and friendly, explaining different dishes to us and making welcomed recommendations.
The whole experience of eating at Moshi Moshi helped make our day one to remember. We will DEFINTELY be back to sample more off the menu!
Thank you and well done. It's not easy to keep us diners happy these days, but you excelled!

Never thought before to give reviews to restaurants but after visiting Moshi Moshi quite a few times, I wanted to search up about Moshi Moshi's ethical treatment on fish and environment and so I happened to find this review site. I've only worked in restaurants my entire working life and I know how its so rare for a customer to actually step forward to praise a catering establishment and the majority will only step forward to complain but looking at the reviews below I feel this to be so unreasonable. Moshi Moshi has a fantastic menu and you can actually tell how much thought and detail have been put into every dish. The Sushi is so traditional and I feel that the commercial sushi you find in other places are too sweet and have lost the traditional aspects of the food. Moshi's food cost is so cheap considering the prices they charge for sushi in London and on Mondays the Moshi membership 50% discount offer is a obvious bargain and I know that the mondays can be chaotic, there is a long line of people waiting for the next tables and service can be slow but you're getting 50% off your food! I go on other days too and the service is lovely, friendly and absolutely 110% helpful. I say give the restaurant some slack and if you want a better calmer service then don't go on a monday and pay full price for your bill

Awful. It is a great shame that I'm writing such a negative review as if I was writing this 5 years earlier, I would give it top marks for everything. Last night was the first time I'd been to moshi moshi for a few years.
To start with, I noticed that the quiet and elegant Japanese music had been replaced by some horrible techno music. Even my son who is 16 and into 'dubstep' said the music could've been made by a child hitting a synthesiser. But anyway, that aside I must say the service was awful. We had a favourite spot, next to the conveyor belt with the wooden booths, but we weren't allowed to sit in any of them, YES, any of them. Not a single one of the 7 available. The food was fair more bland than I remember it. I complained that my sushi was missing some fairly vital ingredients and none of the waiters seemed bothered. So I spoke to the chef making the sushi (who turned out to be the head chef) she apologised and gave us complimentary California roll. This seemed like a pearl in a sea of faeces at the time but we were grateful to the woman (I think her name was Lorna). So we ordered our fill and we noticed that despite ordering almost the exact same dishes as five years ago, the price had doubled! We have been thoroughly put off but we were glad to see that at least one employee showed us some kindness. They need a new manager, and fast! Absolutely awful.

The customer service was awful. There is a complete lack of organisation. the waitress didn't get our orders right but what they did was simply took a half of our dish away and replace it with something they thought 'okay'. What we wanted was an 'apology' from the staff, including the manager, saying that they didn't get it right and then bring the dishes that we 'actually' ordered in the first place. I know it was a busy Monday but I think Moshi Moshi should have still respected the customers no matter what. The staff were just too rude, especially the lady who we assumed to be a manager of Moshi Moshi.

For the past few years I have made a point of visiting Moshi Moshi as I love the cuisine and in the early days it was a great experience there. However the past two times (I thought the first may be a one off) the service was appalling. Thankfully I didn't have the misfortune to experience this 'manager' though he was there, but the staff did enough to put me off.
I am being treated for my 45th birthday tomorrow and sadly Moshi Moshi is now not even in my top 10 restaurants to choose from. Sounds like they need a change in management to turn what was a great restaurant round. Sad.

I have enjoyed moshi moshi in the past and popped in with my girlfriend for something to eat last night. Rude staff and a total lack of service. drinks order was taken after 15 minutes and then they didnt arrive for a further 20 minutes. No apologies and it was not busy. Plenty of staff as well. Will not be going back again.

I agree, this new manager (he said he was the owner??) is really RUDE and having eaten here for 10 years I will not be going back again. I recently went for a free birthday sushi making workshop. All was fine until we went to pay. Even though they'd booked me on it apparently I wasn't on the list so had to argue for 5 mins and justify myself! Then even though my husband is a member, because he had lost his membership card they wouldn't give him a new card, had no way of validating whether he was a member and wouldn't let him have his meal for the member's price. When we argued the 'manager' said "it's only an extra fiver mate". If it was only an extra fiver, why couldn't they let us have it for the member's price! Really Really rude.

Went to Moshi-Moshi today and the manager was RUDE RUDE RUDE. When my friend complained about the rudeness, he said, "I dont want to see your face ever again, GET OUT". When we were paying, heard him said this "i've just served 5 main courses to a man. what does he think hes doing? eating till thursday?". He also didnt have the patience to help my friend out with the menu due to her limited use of English and basically just said, "Look honey, i cant take your order BUT if you can be a little more patient, one of the waiters will come to you". Bear in mind, we have been waiting 20mins for someone to take our order.
Bad food, bad service and will never ever go there again!! someone needs to fire this manager ASAP!!
