Poor sushi, rude service. The owner (he said he was the owner anyway) was rude to customers and staff alike, castigating the waitresses in front of us, bitching about other customers to us and being rude to my Korean co-diner. The sushi is something I wouldn't be surprised to find in M&S packs - ie not particularly authentic - but at twice the price. Go to Oki-Nami instead for great service and good quality.

On Friday, my wife and I went for lunch. Friends had told us of Moshi moshi and that if we were in Brighton we must have lunch there, telling us of the funny little conveyour belts that propelled the dishes around the restaurant. Everything is on differrent coloured plates, this tells you how much each dish is going to cost you. Now I am retired and a dedicated fish 'n chips/roastbeef man. OK I have had chinese and like it very much but, that other foriegn food is not for me. I'm now converted to Japanese. I was wary of the menu and probably kept the waiter far too long while he explained what each dish was. I found the staff in general to be cheerful and happy to serve. I count my meal as the highlight of my day in Brighton. I will most certainly have more meals there.

We went to Moshi Moshi this Monday and we were very surprised at how rude the owner was! My friend was still having sushi but this owner had asked poor waiter to give us a bill asap to give our seats for other people waiting in queue! He was standing right behind us, arguing with the waiter why we were still eating after an hour or so and asking him to clean the table asap...Very rude! Food is good, service is good and waiters and waitresses were all nice but we will never go there again!

First time i have ever written a review! been here twice in two weeks on the "moshi mondays" and just need to say how rude, unfriendly and unwelcoming the manager is. First time we went as we were waiting for a table (understandable on a half price food offer day) the manager pointed at me and said' quote- "sit over there" and told his staff member off in front of us for not seating us when a table was free. I stayed but only for the half price food. I was pleasantly surprised by the quick and efficient service and then the food came which was actually very nice. overall the first visit was a mixed night, some good points some bad- the bill came to just £24 pounds which was very reasonable. On the second visit the manager was equally rude and stormed round the restaurant barking orders. The food was as good as the first time. The staff however incompetent. I understand that on a half price food night they are very busy and it cant be an easy job. We ordered a rice and a seaweed salad which never came so i enquired and was told it would be sorted- we gave up waiting so ate a desert off the conveyor and said we did not wish to pay for the food we finally received and sent back. The bill we were given first time was somebody elses, and the second time was wrong with the rice and seaweed salad on it. I paid but only so i could leave.

Totally agree, i've been eating at Moshi Brighton for years and it's changed for the worst! The manager has to be the most rudest man i've ever met. Service is poor, it is okay to smile staff, even though it may be hard when having a boss like that! However the food is bad! Never used to be, it is now slow, dry and very very plain. This resturant was a gold mine, if they don't do something quick the whole place will crumble! Good luck, you'll need it.

Just looked on the Moshi Moshi Brighton website, it says 'now lovingly owned and run by Karl Jones whose friendly face you'll have got to know at the restaurant'....
that makes me laugh, I've been eating at Moshi Moshi for years and the current manager has been rude and unfriendly every time I've been in there, the other staff don't seem much better either. We ate at Moshi the other night and we all agreed that this place has changed for the worse, the service is slow, staff don't seem to care and the food is nothing special - I know that Moshi Moshi likes to think of itself as a bit of a club with it's 'membership' etc. Sorry about this but after our most recent experience here I really wanted to say something.

Oh my god this place is great! my friends and I went there on Monday it was half price on all the menu, amazing! the food was great, service was a little slow but it was packed so the waiters can be forgiven as they were friendly.
The bill for 4 of us with drinks came to just over £40, I never wright reviews but this place deserves to be noted!
I will deffinatly be back, fantastic!

I've been going to Moshi for about a year now at least twice a month. I'm pleased with the new menu, I really appreciate all the options, just thinking about it waters my appetite.

Used to be good but I went there a few weeks ago and it was terrible. Service was non existent and they served us the wrong order twice. How can a place go down hill as much as this.

I live in Brighton and I've been eating at Moshi for years, I thought I'd leave a review of the restaurant as I was so disappointed when we went last week, the food has gone downhill, rice is horrible, food looks like it's been on the belt too long and the service was really slow - I heard it's been taken over recently, let's hope it gets better.
