Good-Good-Good. Last dined here yesteerday evening although I confess to being a regular over many years. Manages to capture a vibrant cafe / brasserie atmosphere with quality food.

The Zuchinni is to die for!

Bad-Bad-Bad- Service was terrible and the food one of the worse I have had in Brighton- The description of the food from the staff was sparse as they looked bored - My fish course was overcooked and only warm as it was on a hot plate when served. When the waitress asked at the end of the meal on how the food was - I feed back that the main course was not great, over cooked and rubbery, she said she would get the manager and then returned to say that it was my own fault as I should have spoken up earlier! She was the one that asked me! More of tense and bad mannererd customer service prevailed for the rest of the evening. We paid £80 for two for the luxury of this. - We also had a table right in front of the fire exit which was encouraging on the health & safety front!

Having had it recommended to me by several people, this was quite a disappointment with both food and service being barely OK.

With so many more restaurants to choose in Brighton, I won't be rushing back here.

I ate at this restaurant twice in a week in May 2005 and it was superb on both occasions. Both times I was in a group of 8 and the service was friendly, prompt and efficient. The food was excellent.

My wife and I ate at the L in the Lanes few Sundays ago and enjoyed our meal. Have just come home from a night out with friends after eating again at this restaurant and again the food was excellent, service was efficient and friendly. The atmosphere was good and the restaurant very busy, would go again.

The ffod is indifferent - rice dishes taste like rice pudding while the seafood starter is simply a glorified bottom of the range prawn cocktail. The greeting was surly while most of the time the waitress was downstirs . The bill was dumped on the table in a hit and run fashion. My recommendation - avoid.My wife seemed to enjoy her selection , lucky I guess.

We, as a family (and as adults) have used this restaraunt many times. It has always delivered excellent value, food and service. Also, importantly, it is consistant.

They're great with kids and my sone and his mates love a big plate of spag and clams, they devour it!

The staff are fantastic, freindly and professional.

Having moved out of Brighton now, this in one place which we a really miss and make the effort to visit.
