Awful

Cannot describe this appalling experience. We all left with our lamentable food uneaten. Terrible food, bad atmosphere, rude staff, low prices but even if they gave me money I couldn't eat this preheated tesco style food. Definitely I would recommend everyone to avoid this defamation of italian cuisine.

The food here is excellent value for money if you go for 2 or 3 course deals: £6.25 and £8.25 respectively. Most of the time depending on what I have ordered I cannot manage a third course as the portions can be quite large.

Service is okay but not as attentive as other places but for the money I expect that; however the serving staff are friendly and polite. It isn't a place I would go for a gastonomic voyage but is great for a few of your friends meeting up for a cheap meal after or with drinks.

The food and service is pleasent and price is too good to miss. I will continue coming back.

The only comment in the review below which is a review of the restaurant is that dishes often come out cold - this seems to indicate that they've been there more than once - why go back if they hate it that much.

If the food is cold then you should send it back, if it comes bact the same complain! then you can post your experience here if they don't sort it.

Yes the food all comes in the same "centrally produced" tomato sauce, but for £6.95 for 2 courses what do you expect - Jamie Oliver to pick organically grown tomatoes and Ramsay to cook them for you? I love Fat Leos and have never had a meal there below excellent, or not hot for that matter. For me it's better than places charging 2 to 3 times the cost.

Awful.

Part of the Donatello's chain, with centrally prepared dishes which often come cold. I don't understand how they can do it - if Starbucks opened four or five restaurants within spitting distance of each other, there'd be uproar. But Donatello's seem to have pulled it off with few people noticing.

Avoid all Donatello's restaurants - FatLeo's, Donatello's, Pinocchios, Fratellis

Brighton is crying out for a good Italian (haven't tried Jamie's yet), and these just give pasta a bad name.

Took my elderly mother for lunch here today. The place was virtually empty as it was mid afternoon.

We were in the mood for mussels and frites and we were very impressed with it. Large juicy mussels, ample sauce and a big bowl of crispy frites.

Service was very efficient and friendly, loos spotless. An all-round excellent experience. I wish there were more restaurants in Brighton like this.

Had another fantastic meal here today. Arrived at about 3pm - left at 4pm and the place was full throughout, so they must be doing something right. Three excellent courses, a soft drink, water and half abottle of wine for £23 incl service - BEAT THAT !
