I'm going to this restaurant very often and to be honest I have NEVER been disappointed, quite the opposite really. Food is first class, service is excellent (surprised about someone's comment on it, must have been a bad day)
Try the Egg Benedict for a light course and you'll be hooked! No really just fantastic.

I love the athmosphere of this restaurant and have been there twice before. However, I wasn't impressed with the service - and yesterday's visit topped this impression. We went there for a business lunch. The table was wobbly, for a start, which could have been picked up. We ordered the second bottle of wine three times before it finally arrived. Also, we had to top up our own wine twice being bored of waiting for the waiter and sat on our empty plates for too long. It was impossible to get eye contact with any of the staff around. To get the bill, our business partner had to shout across the restaurant to gain attention from a waiter who was staring out of the window. The food was fine although not splendid - the quality of my steak could have been better, and the sauce on the starter was unpleasant.

I was at Havana on Saturday the 19th and it was absolutely fantastic.
The food was divine, I would recommend the duck starter, which my girlfriend said was the best starter she has eaten.
The staff were also fantastic, very attentive and knowledgable.
All in all I haven't a bad word to say about this place, and would highly recommend to anyone for a great night out and dinner in Brighton.

A delightful place set in the Heart of Brighton. We only stumbled accross whilst walking in the Lanes. We decided to give it a try becuase the restaurant just look amazing, and the menu looked very interesting. Thank goodnes that there are still genuine restaurants out there that serve fantastic food and offer great service. The place it self was just beautiful, and spotless, and were shocked when they told us that they had been trading for 12 years, the place looks brand new. A Wonderful evening out and very impressed.

I just adore dining here. It is my favourite restaurant in Brighton. We dined there again last Saturday, and it was fabulous as always. On arrival we decided to sit in the cocktail lounge and order some pre dinner drinks. It was just so nice listening to the live Jazz band and admiring the wonderful surroundings and not forgetting the lovely Mojitos we orderd. After our pre dinner drinks we were then escorted to the dinning area. The service was first class as always, and the meal itself… well lets say I cannot wait to return, just exquisite, and beautifully presented. All I can say is keep up the high standards Havana, you are doing a fab job. Excellent evening.

All of us experienced a fantastic time at Havana at a recent visit. The place is jus fabulous, and buzzing. One would expect the service or food to suffer as a result of being so busy, but this is not the case at all. The Service, was prompt and yet not in your face and very the dishes which we ordered were simply delightful. The whole experience was simply wonderful, and everyone in our party commented on what an excellent evening they’ve had. A wonderful place for a night out.

Used to be one of my favourites, until this last Saturday.
On previous visits loved the atmosphere, decor, food, service and music. This time the Maitre D' rushed us through to the table, without offering to take our coats or offering us a chance to sit and have a drink before. There was a general feeling of us being a nuisance. We were then taken to a table upstairs, out of the way, so we couldn't see the band - and they are one of my main reasons for choosing Havana.
Two starters and two main courses were already "off". Bread basket was half empty with only crusts left. Waited half an hour for the first course. Tomato and mozzarella sorbet - no taste! Main course I had salmon floating in what I felt was like washing up water! Very disappointing, couldn't bear to wait for dessert. Our waiter was apologetic, and said a lot of people didn't like the salmon. So, why is it still on the menu?
Waiter suggested we come back again, but just not on a Saturday!

I used to be a fan of Havana...my partner and I have had several excellent meals there in the past and considered ourselves regulars.
It's funny how one act of stupidity can ruin a place.
Last Friday we visited Brighton in the afternoon to do some Xmas shopping. We had with us our small, well behaved Jack Russell. We decided to visit Havana and sit OUTSIDE with our dog. We were told that we could NOT sit at the central tables but had to sit at the side tables and 'tie' the dog to the side area. There were NO other customers at all outside and this policy seemed completely bonkers.
Naturally we left and enjoyed a very pleasant tapas meal in the lanes at a restaurant who brought water and tidbits for our dog. These small personal touches make all the difference.
