When we visited this unpretentious local restaurant it served cuisine of michelin star quality. It has only been open a year, and one or two difficult customers complained about waiting times, but we enjoyed excellent friendly service, and superb cooking. Every detail was right. The fish and the meat were melt-in-the-mouth, and the vegetables were al dente. The sauces were exquisite, and the cuisine was original without being experimental. There was also a generous plate of home made breads, which were special. This was the best meal we have had for quite a while.

My wife and I ate here on a Thursday evening late January. Despite it being very quiet the ambience is good, the décor is great and the food and service was fantastic. The veg I had with my perfectly cooked and seasoned lamb was carrots cooked three ways, they were so good I did the same for friends we had round for dinner the following weekend! The menu was good and varied and all our dishes were cooked and presented to perfection.

I hope the restaurant does well and manages to flourish in the current economic climate. I can’t recommend it highly enough and I am not in any way connected with the restaurant!

This is a great restaurant. Short menu, but each meal cooked with care. The food was delicious, service friendly and efficient and we never felt rushed. The room had a good feel to it and my husband has decided it is his second favourite restaurant in Brighton. We will definitely be back.

I fail to see how anyone can fault this restaurant - and I'm a tough customer to please. Simply fantastic quality ingredients, perfectly cooked and presented on the plate. I started with a trio of crab, followed by monk fish wrapped in palma ham. It was brilliant !!

The staff were attentive, but not overpowering. Brilliant. We shall return.

I have seen this restaurant on proudrestaurants.com first, apparently it used to be Kemp Brasserie...? I have read the professional reviews, menus, etc and I thought, lets try it. Well...we loved it! food is amazing, fine dining quality, but not at fine dining price...

The owners are great, we were welcomed by them in person. We will be back for sure.

Possibly the best steak that I have ever had the pleasure of consuming!

It was clearly an excellent cut of meat, cooked to my exact requirements, perfectly complimented and beautifully presented. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu.

The wine list was excellent and the ambience was truly pleasant, avoiding the pretence often accompanied by a restaurant serving food of this standard.

The price was very reasonable considering the quality, and I would highly recommend 24 St Georges to anyone.

We tried this restaurant out last night and had a very enjoyable evening. The staff were welcoming and the atmosphere in the restuarant felt good, people relaxed and obviously having a good time.

The menu had so many inviting choices that it was hard to choose, I guess we'll just have to go back. My Red Mullet starter was excellent and my husband raved about the Crab. He also said that the Fillet steak was the best he'd had outside of London and my lamb was tender and perfectly cooked.

The service was friendly, competant and not rushed. It was nice to be able to eat out at a good restaurant at a convenient time without having to worry we had to be out before their next booking arrived.

I thoroughly recommend this restaurant and will be going back many times as it is definitely one of Brighton's finest.

This was our experience today: Having made a booking for Sunday lunch, our table was not made up when we arrived. We then had to ask the waitress to remove lumps of food which were stuck to the wall next to our table.

The waiting staff were wooden and uninterested in their guests. The atmosphere was dead and the decor dreary.

The food was, without exception, completely tasteless.

No-one asked if we had enjoyed our meal; when we politely offered an opinion, we were assured it would reach the chef, but no-one followed up on the comment.

It is just another typical Brighton trying to be something it isn't and it will not last - it doesn't deserve to.

This restaurant only recently opened just before Christmas 2010 and we tried it out last week. We went in for their £10 for two courses lunch time menu and it was so surprisingly good that it has made me want to post a review of a Brighton restaurant for the first time. My main course of lamb suet pudding was perfect for the rather dank and drizzly weather that was on offer outside. An interesting wine list and swift, unobtrusive service and the fact that we weren't hurried even though we arrived at 2PM made for a perfect lunch. The inside of the restaurant is far funkier than the outside would suggest and I suggested to the owners that they were hiding their light under a bushel. Give it a try and let's hope that it is a long term addition to Kemp Town's choice of good restaurants....
