Best Dim Sum in town and not even a London Dim Sum Restaurant could compete with them. We are regulars at China Garden and have always enjoyed our lunch there. The service is swift and friendly and although they can get pretty packed on weekends, there always remains a smile on their face. As it gets really crowded on a weekend my husband and I prefer eating our lunch there weekdays. The dishes are also fresher as they are being prepared when you order and not pre-prepared as on the weekend.
Great value and very yummy!

China Garden looked good from the outset, a busy restaurant with an interesting selection of food, esp the Dim Sum menu. And the food seemed to be looking preety good too, UNTIL the arrival of a supposed chicken with ginger and spring onion dish. The dish was dull and bland, with soggy battered chicken and the notable absence of anything even remotely resembling ginger or spring onion. So we decided to tell the waitress we simply didnt want the dish, only having taken half a bite. The waitress didnt offer us a replacement, or even apologise but she did take the un -eaten dish away. So we carry on with the rest of our food, a great duck soup, some more dim sum and veggies, all of which I have to say were lovely. At this point we have practically forgotten about the disappointing chicken dish, and as the meal draws to an end the bill arrives. Looking through the bill, we quickly notice the presence of the chicken dish which was not eaten and previously taken away. An 'oversight' we say, the waitress just 'forgot to remove it', BUT as we point this out to the waitress she simply replies you ordered it you pay for it. How can this be? the dish was horrible, we told her this the minute it arrived and we ate none of it. BUT she still insisted we had to pay for it. So after a far to long battle with an awkward and unhelpful waitress the manager finally decided to remove the dish from our bill, with the waitress still trying to argue whilst we paid. So China Garden, fine as long as you are prepared to passively accept their standards but not so good for those of us who feel restaurants should be centred around the idea of good food and service.

Overpriced and very average food.....If I spend £50 on a chinese meal I expect to feel satisfied. Although this restaurant is highly thought of I will not be going back and I'll be informing everyone I know that this place has gone down hill.

This is my favourite Chinese Restaurant in Brighton! The service is impeccable and very friendly as you are treated like royalty for the night! The food, although slightly more expensive than average, is authentic and delicious. Some particularly good choices are the salt and pepper squid or prawns (which comes with a scallion and garlic garnish to die for), the BBQ ribs and the kung po sauce. Even the egg fried rice on it's own is fab! I don't recommend this restaurant to friends- I coerce them to pay it a visit!
