Me and the wife were looking for a Chinese in the Preston Road/Western Road area and couldn't find anything with consistently good reviews online.... until China China.
It is cheap, the staff are lovely and the food is AMAZING and quick. If you're looking for a Chinese in this area, then this is the place.
I live round the corner from China -China and decided to throw out my kitchen as I can afford to eat there every night.
Toast a Tsing-Tao to this review as you enjoy your food.

EXCELLENT place to eat, excellent service - they are so friendly alhtough some of the waiters / waitresses do not speak good english! The food is delicious, the portions are generous! Not expensive at all! We are a family of six and LOVE eating there!!!! Excellent for familys with little ones, as they can make noise and mess and its ok. Excellent! excellent! and simply excellent! We cant stay away!!!

Went here on my own in August to try the Dim Sum. Staff were courteous if not particularly friendly or smiling. The food was pretty good if a little bland. I was looking over at the other tables and huge plates of mounds of food were being put in front of people. It was then I realised that is why people came to this restaurant.
There were plenty of Chinese people here, students and families which is a good indication of how good this restaurant is.
I will definitely come here again but will sample the main menu.

Proper chinese portions...HUGE!! Nice food...always steaming hot...love it! Really cheap but good quality!
Try Duck Roast, Sweet and Sour (any option is equally worthy) or Special Fried Rice! Main course its something around £6!

If you are looking for a reasonably priced place to enjoy good food then i highly recommend China China Brighton. I have been 3 times now and love the Dim Sum! it is fabulous.
It is cash only mind and if you have a large party of people to go i suggest that you book prior to the date.
Enjoy!!!!

China china is a great place for meeting up with friends; the food, especially sweet and sour pork are really yummy. The price is great as well, you can easily spend as much as 6 pounds for a relly big dish and a drink, good for people with tight buegets and teenagers (like me and my friends ^^) We love it and always go there everyweek! its closing for refurbishment tomorrow though which is a shame cause we wont have anywhere else to go for another two weeks T^T

Good value food, however pretty MSG laden. However their ducks pancakes have always been enjoyable.

Visited for a late lunch (3.00pm ish) on 19th September 2007. There was a lively atmosphere, a large table of chinese diners having a whale of a time, and a few other tables with singles munching away happily. The interior was light, bright with some lovely stained windows towards the rear of the restaurant. After reading previous reviews, we decided to order the bare minimum, a malaysian king prawn curry with noodles and chilli chicken accompanied by boiled rice. Both dishes were served on enormous plates, after a very short wait, and both were very tasty. Washed down with a tsing tao beer and a glass of house dry white wine, we had a relaxed, enjoyable experience, boosted by the charming young man who waited on our table. On request, he cheerfully brought us bowls so that we could share our food. We made a valiant effort but couldn't finish all it. If you want budget eating at a welcoming Chinese bistro, you can't go wrong here.
