I live in Cuckfield, and when I visit Brighton I always eat in China China. I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and I really miss good Chinese food. China China is as authentic as you will find, anywhere. I think it's really excellent value for money and the food's great. The staff are quick and friendly and the place is always packed out with local ethnic Chinese. True, the atmosphere is pretty scrubbed table top and lino, but that is what real Chinese restaurants are like! Go and eat there if you're hungry, like Chinese food and you want your meal served up quickly, but not, perhaps for a special anniversary dinner where you want candle-light and fine wine.

Terrible from start to finish. Aromatic duck was fatty and not even slightly crispy. dumplings were stodgy and bland. chilli chicken was pale lumps of chicken floating around in MSG and thickening agent.

The worst chinese I have ever eaten (or thrown in the bin), and thats saying something!

There is a sign above the service area that says "China China Fast Food Restaurant".

Well this isn't your typical greasy American chain outlet. This place is much more than that.

I had lunch here today, on my own. It wasn't busy when I arrived, but the restaurant was absolutely heaving by the time I left. There were lots of Chinese families and students as well as westerners. A good sign!

There are plenty of staff and they all seemed to know what they were doing,. They were young and very pleasant.

The menus is huge but II began my meal with BBQ spare ribs. They arrived only lukewarm but was absolutely delicious and a huge portion for a starter. They kindly brought a lemon finger bowl and a small saucer to put my finished bones! This is attention to detail I like!

Then I had the 'mixed meat' special which had char-sui pork, crispy pork belly and duck served with some Pak-Choi and rice. Again, it was a generous portion and filled me right up.

I had a soft drink, but water was freely available for people who wanted it. Another positive sign that this restaurant isn't trying to push alcohol at people.

I ate here for under £10 which is pretty good.

I have to say this is one of the best, unpretentious, great value for money eateries in Brighton & Hove. In a street full of largely mediocre restaurants, this place signs and it shows. There was a queue of people waiting to get in as I was leaving.

I am definitely coming back!

Returned to this restaurant with some big rugby playing lads and their partners, one with a child's buggy, last week, early evening. Thought it might have been a problem with buggy, but there were no problems at all and the staff were happy to make space for it which was pretty good.

The food! Wow! Tasty and huge portions. My rugger friends have big appetites and even they were struggling to eat through the mounds of food we ordered! Although we ordered a lot of food, the bill seemed quite reasonable.

I noticed there were a lot of Chinese clientèle, students and young families. To me that is a good sign.

Last time I came here I thought the service was a little reserved but this time the waitresses especially were very friendly and smiling. It made for a very enjoyable experience and one that we will certainly be repeating in the near future.

China China is definitely a good'un!

Me and the wife were looking for a Chinese in the Preston Road/Western Road area and couldn't find anything with consistently good reviews online.... until China China.

It is cheap, the staff are lovely and the food is AMAZING and quick. If you're looking for a Chinese in this area, then this is the place.

I live round the corner from China -China and decided to throw out my kitchen as I can afford to eat there every night.

Toast a Tsing-Tao to this review as you enjoy your food.

Went here on my own in August to try the Dim Sum. Staff were courteous if not particularly friendly or smiling. The food was pretty good if a little bland. I was looking over at the other tables and huge plates of mounds of food were being put in front of people. It was then I realised that is why people came to this restaurant.

There were plenty of Chinese people here, students and families which is a good indication of how good this restaurant is.

I will definitely come here again but will sample the main menu.

Proper chinese portions...HUGE!! Nice food...always steaming hot...love it! Really cheap but good quality!

Try Duck Roast, Sweet and Sour (any option is equally worthy) or Special Fried Rice! Main course its something around £6!

If you are looking for a reasonably priced place to enjoy good food then i highly recommend China China Brighton. I have been 3 times now and love the Dim Sum! it is fabulous.

It is cash only mind and if you have a large party of people to go i suggest that you book prior to the date.

Enjoy!!!!
