Brighton Pagoda Chinese Restaurant
your comments review this restaurant
My wife and I together with my brother and his wife visited the Pagoda last Friday night for my birthday (which was on the 20th of January, but fortunately I haven’t been waiting to eat since then!) and I have to say we had a great evening. This is a Chinese restaurant with a difference, as you find out as soon as you set foot aboard the Pagoda. Not too big like some Chinese restaurants and so you receive more of a personal service from the waiters and waitresses all of whom were very friendly, courteous and attentitive when required. The food was excellent too, plenty of it and with a taste that was different to your normal run of the mill Chinese experience. Whatever way it was cooked it was delightful. Pricey? Not really, as I wasn’t paying, but from the menu it looked fairly reasonably priced. The restaurant being a boat, every now and then you would feel a little gentle rocking, which all added to ‘the difference’ and meant that you didn’t have to drink alcohol to feel slightly off balance when walking to the bathroom. The only improvement I could suggest would be to have a few more Chinese effects in the restaurant, like Chinese lanterns, but the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, so that’s a small improvement on an otherwise great evening. Would recommend and will return to the Pagoda.
