Pho
our comments
Following the success of their London restaurants, the Pho team have opened their first Brighton branch. The laid-back eatery specialises in goi (salads), bun (vermicelli noodles), fresh summer and spring rolls, and - of course - Vietnam's national dish, pho (noodle soup).- May 2010

Wow! Really nice restaurant. Just moved to the area, and found this place while wondering around the lanes.
I LOVE asian food, and Vietnamese in particular, so was really chuffed at stumbling across Pho.
The food was spectacularly good! Spicy beef pho rocks my world, and it was amazing here. Also had some pork spring rolls which were great too.
The place was designed beautifully and has a really nice vibe.
Last, but not least, the service was fantastic! Everyone was very attentive, but not overly so, and very helpful, especially a cute manager there... Annie.
It was a great experience, and I will most surely be visiting Pho very regularly.

Maybe I am not a lover of Vietnamese food, but went with three frinds on a saturday night and found the experience most unpleasant. The Spring Rolls were weird tasting, over-powered by lemongrass. My friends had the curry which was fine they said but a tad small in portion size. I had the Pho, and although the ingredients were fresh looking, again lemon grass overpowered the meal and for me made it inedible. I won't be returning

Word travels fast in Brighton... I went here a few weeks ago for the first time, easily got a table and had a fantastic meal. I went back again this week and it was absolutely packed and had a queue waiting.
In summary, this is a really excellent new restaurant with delicious food, and great atmosphere and service.
I hadn't tried Vietnamese before Pho, and I keep kicking myself for not having done so... It is absolutely my new favourite food and restaurant! Where have you been all my life..
It's unusual to get such comfort from such healthy food, but here is a place you can. :)
You really have to try it to believe it..

Nice place, good service. The food was fresh and tasty and unlike Wagamama's etc didn't taste like it came out of a jar.
Would definitely go back.

Wow!! What a fab place. My boyfriend and I were on the way to Jamies last night but discovered Pho and dicided to take a chance and explore Vietnamese cuisine (loved it when I was in Vietnam a year ago). What can I say: 10 out of 10!!!!!!!! Beautifully fresh fragrant food (papaya salad was divine!!!), generous portions, great atmosphere, prompt service, friendly and attentive staff – thats a winner in my eyes! We will be back (soon!!!) Thanks Pho

Went to Pho last night as we fancied something tasty and fresh after a day frying on the beach. The food was tasty and fresh juices really good, but sadly any nice experience we could have had was overshadowed by the terrible service.
There's no organisation in this restaurant - nobody works a particular section - the result being that we had about 6 people serve us over the course of the evening, our drinks were forgotten, our prawn crackers never turned up and then the waitress couldn't even be bothered waiting for 5 seconds while I punched in my PIN number - she wandered off to serve someone else. Not good timing as my finger hovered over the 'Gratuity?' button.
Needless to say we left no tip, told them we were annoyed and will probably not go back. I eat out in Brighton a lot and while I don't expect stellar service all the time, I do at least want to feel a little bit important. Having one waiter from start to finish makes a meal really nice, you feel like you get to know them a bit and are happy tipping them. The people working in Pho don't seem to care. Sorry.

Simply a great addition to the local restaurant scene and right to the top of our regular haunts list. Bun noodle dish (I had prawn) the perfect summer dish and insanely filling / great value. Good service, fresh and what feels like very healthy food - miles better than Wagamama - and good prices tick all the boxes. Brilliant design as well.

I may not have been as utterly bowled over as some of the other reviewers, but I was very impressed with Pho. (Sorry, it takes a lot to bowl me over..)
But, having said that, it has definitely jumped up there with the best in town in my eyes.
As it's called Pho, I felt I should try the noodle soup after which the restaurant is named, and was not disappointed. I had a spicy tofu and mushroom pho that was fantastic.
I also had a Vietnamese beer with my meal (forget the name..), and a jasmine flowering tea after, which was fantastic.
Definitely be returning regularly.

Wow!!! I've been raving about this place to anyone who will listen. It’s my new favorite restaurant by far!
I went there last Sunday for dinner with my boyfriend straight away we were sat down by a waiter I think he was French with an eyebrow piercing, he was great really knowledgeable about all the food and so so friendly.
When the food came OH MY GOD amazing!!!!!! The summer rolls are amazing so light, the mains are just as good so tasty and massive portions.
Even the drinks were great! Really tasty homemade lemonade and fresh orange the way it should be!
I thought great food amazing service so the bill might be a bit of a shock. It was but in a really good way! 3 drinks 2 starters 2 mains £29!!!!
Can’t wait to go again. The only word to describe Pho - epic!!!!

Hold the press!! This place is fantastic!
A friend went here right after it opened and recommended it highly, and now I am doing the same.
I can't stress how fresh and flavoursome the food was. A plethora or herbs and spices, that somehow maintain their individual strengths, but also compliment each other perfectly.
We shared the summer rolls (10/10), the pork spring rolls (9/10), and the veggie spring rolls (8/10) - all delicious - and then a bun with prawns (9/10) and a pho with spicy beef (11/10!) - again superb.
We had some fresh juices too, which were great, and some lovely tea at the end.
Bonus points for funky cool atmosphere too!
I really can't compliment these guys enough... An excellent experience.
