i heard they just changed managment on the 7th of may 2010 so i decided to go back, because i use to love this place untill one day it all went wrong, so i went back on the 9th of may and i must say it was very very good. there is still the same waitresses as before but i must say you can see that thay are now more happier to work there i had the opportunity to meet the new manager must say very nice person, the food was lovely and service well done thank you again.

Have been to Cafe Rouge at Brighton Marina a number of times in the last 2 years. We went on the 7th of May and found the standard of food & service had gone down considerably. The food quality and service is usually very good, but on this occasion was second class. I ordered steak & a side order of beans, which did not arrive. When they did finally get their act together, the beans were virtually uncooked & had not been trimmed. The steak was really tough. My wife ordered fish cakes which had big lumps of inedible potato & virtually no salmon.
At the end of our meal we were charged for 2 lots of beans & on questioning this we did not get any comment other than a revised bill.
I contacted customer services the following day but to date have not had a reply.
Perhaps they are relying on their previous good name. We will not be going there again.

Ate here yesterday for lunch. The waitress only gave us a la carte menu, and we had to ask for the special set lunch menu. Out of the 3 main course for set menu, the cod was off the menu and the toulouse sausages were substitued with breakfast sausages! We felt the waitress was very ubrupt, and sometimes rude. We over heard her saying to one table "Give me a chance!" She was also extremely pushy as regards to us ordering 'extras'. She made us feel uncomfortable and on edge. The only time she made 'nice' conversation was when we were paying. We didnt leave a tip.
That aside, the food was outstanding!!!!! Camembert to start (shared) and Steak frites / Chicken for main. Served with a beautiful side of herb butter! Mmmmm. Its a lovely restaurant and I will return. Hope next time we get one of the other waiters / waitress who seemed lovely!

I am a french businessman and i stayed in brighton for a conference for three days and i saw this little beautiful corner restaurant with their amazing christmas decoration (simple but traditional french!) that catch my attention, i had a super meal, the wine that was suggested by my waiter was delightful. I was alone and they made me feel welcome and good. Must go back!
