Disappointed - the food, when it eventually arrived, was OK, but we waited and waited for it to arrive. The service was poor - no apology received for the long delays. The restaurant was cold. The toilets - filthy. They probably need to stick with takeaway service, but I won't be ordering from them.

I’m usually quite sceptical about where I eat, especially when it is an Indian restaurant but coming from London I was recommended this restaurant from a friend who had been there a few weeks ago.

Much to my expectation the food was great, especially the tender lamb curry, but I was more impressed by the service which is always a good sign. The place was clean, the food was good, the atmosphere was soothing…overall a pleasant night out.

Highly recommend it.

After all the good reviews here we decided to give it a go, but were left disappointed.

First the good news: the vegetable dhansak was delicious, and the naan breads among the best we've had. The bad news: the tandoori chicken was poor quality meat, starters were cold and bland, we had to wait a very long time for it.

We went on a Sunday evening and the place was virtually empty - only one other couple were in the restaurant, and two others came for take-away. Popadums arrived quickly enough but tasted very supermarket-like, and our table wasn't cleared until our starter arrived - over 40 minutes later. The chap serving seemed friendly enough but was obviously just winging it and not trained in hospitality. The slow service would be understandable if the place was packed and they were rushed off their feet, but it was pin-drop quiet and the host spent most of the time just hanging about talking to the delivery driver.

We'll be sticking with Hove Tandoori!

This is Hove's best kept secret. Unbelievably good food, very impressed. Friendly service, nice vibe. 10/10.

This is the second time we have eaten here and we will be definitely be regulars - the food is excellent. Really tasty curries which are full of flavour. The best Indian we've found in Brighton and Hove!

I cannot overstate how happy we are to have at last found a decent curry house in Brighton. The dishes are well cooked - spicy but not greasy, colourful but not rainbow-hued, rich in taste and generous in portion size.

The service is friendly but definitely on the slow side. It was quiet when we went so god knows what it'd be like on a busy night. But even with that in mind, it was worth the wait. It's a bring-your-own place too, but I can live with that too for the food. The jalfrezi blew my tastebuds out - superb.

Simply put this is the best curry place in Brighton & Hove by a country mile.

We have eaten there at least 10 times and also have had delivery and have tried several different dishes which have all been fantastic. Friendly staff, really passionate about their food which shows in the quality. A favourite for us on a summers evening is to order our food in advance, enjoy the walk along the beach and then head down to the beach for an ice cream after. Try this place, you won't be disappointed.

Went here a couple of weeks ago on a Monday evening, as expected very quiet but excellent service and warm welcome with deliciously fresh cooked food - the fish curry was particularly good. Highly recommended and you get to take your own drinks - apparently the off licence next door will give you a discount if you say where you are eating!

We had a take away this evening. The portion sizes were huge and the food excellent. This is our first try since it changed hands and we'll definately be back
