I visited the restaurant after seeing an advert in the paper to promote their refurbishment and revised menu. Wow, this has to be the best looking fish & chip restaurant I have ever been to and on top of that the quality of the food was outstanding. I would also like to say that the quality of the service was excellent so well done Bankers, I would recommend it to anyone - families & couples.

I love a bit of bankers; very good fish and chips. I cant fault them for the food :) The best chips in Brighton however can be found at Sing Li's next to the train station...they.are.amazing. and 90p a bag...unreal

Ignore the horrid decor and the weird mural (that no longer spouts water) and just enjoy the yummy fish and chips. Service is generally good (but avoid 'mothers days' or 'fathers days' - when service and food quality suffers because they get too busy to cope).

On request they can cook fish in matzo meal - which is even better than batter.

An occasional, decadent, romantic treat is a fish, chips, mushy peas, pickled egg supper accompanied by Champagne, following a cold winters walk along the beach. Bliss.

Really good chips, efficient staff and reasonable prices. Always good to pop into on th way home from work, or from the pub, or when you fancy some great chips, or even if you don't... :)

We ate here the other day and the food was great although I would agree that they appear understaffed at busier times. Another small gripe was that another table was served before us even though we had been seated first. We had traditional fish and chips with mushy peas and curry sauce (well almost traditional) on the side. All the food was non-greasy, very tasty and inexpensive. We shall eat here again.

A decent chippy with a good location if you want to take your fish and chips down to the seafront via Western Street. Good food of a consistent standard. Service can be rather slow if you eat in and it can be a bit hectic when the place is busy.

We eat here regularly. The fish and chips are cooked to perfection .Not greasy at all.The batter is light ;The fish sweet and creamy that falls away under the knife. They obviously change their cooking oil regulary and treat their fish with respect. The service is never anything less than friendly and the atmoshere pleasant.

Best fish and chip shop i've tried in brighton (although i hear there's a better one off london road somewhere!). Consistently good and not too greasy. Yum yum. :-)
