My girlfriend and I went on Saturday night and had a sublime dinner. Beautifully decorated inside, cracking service and fitting music. Very good value for money and this place is destined to become a great. I'd get in now before like lots of places when they become successful and put the prices up to London prices.

i went to oblong for the third time, on friday as i have not been disappointed yet. this visit was no exception. as it was a warm evening we sat outside on the roof terrace. this was very pleasant and i felt like i was in a small village garden somewhere.

we ordered the mezze plate to share as a starter which was absolutely fantastic. a really good size portion and delicious too. im glad they are not afraid to serve good size portions without compromising on the quality. after the starters, we moved inside as it was getting a little chilly, to a small conservatory which overlooks the roof terrace. very cosy.

for mains, we decided to have the steak and risotto. the steak was perfect, served with chunky homemade chips and complementary rather than overpowering gravy/jus . the risotto was the best my husband has ever tasted. im not one for rice based dishes but i had a nibble and it was truely wonderful. a great mix of nicely balanced flavours, none which were too strong.

for desert we had a chocolate brownie and crumble. both finished off the meal in perfect style. friendly staff and exceptional value for money. i will certainly be back soon.

I visited Oblong for the first time, last Wednesday lunchtime. We had a choice of eating inside or on their lovely secluded and sheltered roof terrace.

The lunchtime menu was hot overly complicated and exactly what we wanted. we ordered sandwiches with wedges expecting the usual processed meat or floppy vegetables stuck in between two slices of plain bread. waht arrived was very different. a beautifully crafted fresh roasted vegetable and mozzarella filling accompanied by thick cut homemade fluffy bread and a perfectly cooked tuna steak on the same bread and wholesome large homemade wedges

i was really impressed so i am looking forward to trying out their more comprehensive evening menu some time soon.
