Visited Loves with my husband and three children. Our first thought was £11.95 for fish and chips - it must be fab stuff.

The fish was a 'nice piece of fish' - the chips, well, left alot to be desired. I really didn't expect frozen chips for the price we paid.

We all had a glass of Coke, which was extremely pale looking and watery tasting.

We won't be returning, We feel our £50+ could be better spent else where.

On a cold wet windy Brighton Lunchtime me and my fella come across Loves.

I had been told mixed things about this place, since Gordan Ramsey turned it around.

Boy was i suppriced the place was amazing lovely deco very minimal and very welcoming. The Menu plus what was on the specials board was to die for.

I had Prawns in Tampra Batter to start which come with a homemade sweet chili dip which was amazing not to hot it was just right. I then Had the Posh fish and Chips which was the BEST fish and chips I have every tasted it was amazing.

My Partner had one of the special to start which was Seared scallops on a bed of baby leeks in a tomato and hint of chili sauce, I don't like scallops but these melted in your mouth they were amazing and cooked so well. He then have Fried Gernad Fillets which was cooked to profection the whole meal was amazing and our waiter was very accomadating..

For a Two course meal and 4 glass of wine plus a few soft drinks the bill came to £60 bargain i say as the food was amazing.

Myself and my girlfriend visited Love's and were thoroughly impressed with the food and service. We both went for the famous Posh Fish and Chips, which was very good. The tempura prawns to start was excellent, huge prawns!! The meal came to £60, which was good value for two starters, two mains, one desert and a bottle of decent wine. The staff were very attentive too.

Went to Loves on Saturday for lunch. The food was great but the service was non existent. Nobody greeted us when we came in, we had to wait 10 minutes after we were seated for a menu, the bill was messed up and they brought us the wrong starters. It was blatantly obvious that they didn't have enough staff on. It's a shame that restaurants feel they don't need to invest in service staff as it spoils the whole experience. Loves can't rely upon Gordon Ramsay's legend forever!

We went to Love's on saturday and it was nice decor and good service. Staff were knowledgeable and the service was efficient. However, I left feeling that although the food was good, it was not really worth the money. Strangely, I thought the food, price and my impression of it all was extremely similar to when I ate at Ruby Tates! We paid £46 each for 3 courses and wine so felt this could be better spent elsewhere. Fish and sauces very good. Wasn't so keen on the unpeeled butternut squash and soggy overcooked roasted (new) potatoes. So, overall the food and service was good but the pricing system disguises the 'real' price!

went to loves resturant on monday night with my husband and we both had the posh fish and chips, it was fantastic, the batter on the fish was light with a slight hint of curry powder, beautiful, the pollock was moist and very tasty, and the plates were hot, the service was impeccable,"well done girls" , alan is a great character as well as a good host, and not forgeting the guys in the engine room, they were doing a good job, the wait for your food was not long, 15 to 20 mins max. The atmosphere was great. I loved the whole experience, in fact it was so good we went back the next night {tues 6th nov} and brought to other friends with us , i had the crab lasagne with a lobster bisque sauce, lovely, my husband had organic salmon, and the two friends had posh fish and chips and they were not disapointed, they loved it. again the service, the host {alan} and atmosphere were fantastic. i would highly recommened loves resturant.... keep up the good work guys and i'll see you next time i'm in brighton!!!

We hadn't been back to see Alan for various reasons since he opened Ruby Tate's and we had a staggeringly good meal and wrote about it here. For a year our paths were, what we thought to be, separated forever......

Then came Ramsey and his TV programme, I took a deep breath and sent K a text to suggest she watch it and of course she had made a note already. We hadn't spoken a civil word to each other for nearly a year but the texts seemed fine and we spoke and all was civilised.

She was going to be in Brighton and I could be as well....so in trepidation we both made a date to meet early evening in Love's Fish Restaurant.

We met, hugged, and months of angst slipped away. We'd both been through the mill but that spark was still there.

Alan was his old ebullient self but realising what was going on on gave us space. It was wonderful.

But you don't want to read any more about us, you want to know whether Le Ramsay has worked his magic and the answer is yes. The restaurant decor has been transformed into modern minimulist cool and is better for it.

The food, we both had Posh Fish and Chips, was lovely and the fish was very fresh and covered with a really light batter. All in a perfect meal with slight reservations about the chips, they need a little attention Alan.

The wine selection is first rate although as we had both driven over forty miles to get there, one glass was the maximum we could enjoy.

K'll be back next week but unfortunately I won't be able to join her but we will meet up again I'm sure.

In the meantime Alan's on a roll and more power to his elbow I say, we all need a bit of luck at our time of life.

We left promising to meet up again so thank you Alan for being instrumental in two people who loved one another very much meeting up again.
