More like the Ford Mondeo of burgers!

I had a cheeseburger yesterday evening. It was still warm, but not hot, and the bun and the meat were dry. The last quarter of the burger itself was full of gristle and inedible. The leaf salad was wilted and sad looking.

Had anyone asked whether the meal was all right, I'd have let them know. But since the service was non-existent, I just got out of there.

Excellent burgers, but hopeless dining experience.

I arrived early, ordered a bottle of wine. Had a glass and the munchies stuck. Looked for something to nibble. There were plenty of nice nibbles to order under the previous management, nothing, not even a few olives or some garlic bread.

My companion arrived and we went straight to burgers as this appeared to be expected. Excellent burgers.

When they had gone down the munchies struck again. We just felt like finishing off with a nice pud. When we tried to order the dessert course we were told there were no puddings!!!!!!!!!!!! Realy, truly no puds! We thought the waiters were pulling our leg at first. Apparently there was some ice cream and that was it. Big deal, our freezers are full of designer ice cream. Why should we want it when we are treating ourselves to dinner out?

We actually toyed with the idea of going around the corner and pulling a fruit salad and chocolate mousse of the sushi belt!

We actually ended up spending £35 for double chips and burgers and a bottle of wine – excellent value, but we expect to spend that much each when we meet up and dine every few weeks. We like to treat ourselves.

What is management thinking of? Failure to provide your clientele with the opportunity to spend money in your restaurant must be the royal road to business failure.

I was so desperate to refresh my palate that I ate a punnet of raspberries when I got home. I would rather have bought, paid and eaten them with my meal an hour earlier.

I would not recommend this restaurant as a place to dine, despite its excellent food and service. It just does not deliver the dining out experience, but I will be back if they add a few mezzes and some decent puds to the bill of fare.
