Visited Santiago a week ago and had the most agreable time. Fantastic Spanish influenced food that was very fresh, delicious and rather inspiring to try and cook at home. The service was excellent, very attentive and friendly. Price was very reasonable. The view is extremely serene, so nice to sit in the window seat and look at the sea.

My only criticism is for a Spanish themed restaurant i would have liked to have seen more Spanish wines on the list. But overall well worth a visit.

My partner & I ate at Santiago on Monday (02/07/08) evening at it was fantastic. We had a table outside which gave us some fab people watching time!

The food was absolutely lovely. I had the rib eye steak & my partner had the prawns both of which were excellent. There are a lot of restaurants that serve great food in Brighton but what sets Santiago apart is the fact it combines great food with excellent & really friendly service topped of with a location second to none. Even if it's not great weather they have three fantastic arch windows upstairs in the restaurant giving amazing views across the sea.

The only complaint I have is that if they keep serving the brioche & ice cream my partner & I are going to put on about four stone!!

Oh such a perfect day ... and we had lunch at Santiago ....

Oh hurrah, a Brighton Seashore lunch without the obligatory chips, ketchup 'n' vinegar! OK, so many of beachfront restaurants have upped their game recently, but in our opinion Santiago is hitting the lights and bravely going where the beach bars and eateries have not been before.

The food was exceptionally delicious and the menu superbly in sync with the sunny, seashore location. Just popping in for lunch made us feel happy and relaxed.

The low-down: Child friendly (at least at lunchtime/afternoon), excellent wine, interesting beers, friendly and attentive service, eat & drink and watch the world go by (excellent for people watching!), excellent food above expectations, aim for 3 courses if you have the time to chill out and enjoy them, expect £20+ for three courses per person plus drinks. Perfect for a romantic evening - dining inside or out.

Out with the old and in with a new mouth watering menu - Santiago has certainly gone through some changes but boy the food is utterly delicious.

Santiago has it all - fantastic food, great value for money, lovely sea views and excellent service - certainly should keep other seafront eateries on their toes.

I recommend the sea bass and the house white - absolutely delicious!!

Santiago restaurant has a new menu! We were lucky enough to be amongst the first to try this exciting new menu. The menu caters for all tastes having fish, meat and veggy options. My partner chose a fish dish which he assured me was just as delicious as the vegetable stack that I ordered. The service was friendly and attentive and the whole experience was pleasant and relaxed. A wonderful way to spend a saturday afternoon watching the world go by. We ate outside this time but the inside area would make the perfect setting for a romantic evening meal. The prices reflect the quality of the food and service and represent value for money so if you are looking for a relaxed dining experience, then this is the place for you. I will certainly be returning.

Friendly staff, good interpretation of Spanish food with quality ingredients, if a little on the pricey side for tapas. We went on Saturday afternoon and sat outside. Unfortunately when we arrived the outside area was full and we were told that the indoor area would not be open until the evening, so had to wait for a table to become available. We would definitely go back to this restaurant.
