I went to the Ginger Pig last saturday (26th), the service was excellent and as for the food it was perfect. I came with close friends who are not from Brighton and they were amazed at how everything could be so great even though it was so busy.

3 of us had steak which was cooked to perfection and the other dish was seabass which was mind blowing. I have to say I will certainly be coming to the 'Pig' again. do not let the waiting time put you off, it is worth the wait.

I was taken to the Ginger Pig on my birthday and had a fantastic meal. The service was efficient and friendly and the food was excellent. Highly recommended.

I don't think I'll visit again. A birthday treat Sunday roast was disappointing. First one of the waiting staff was a let down with a "rushed off her feet" and "I'm too busy dealing with tables" attitude; then my friend was asked to move seats to the opposite side of the table, so they could make space for to move tables around for more customers; then a dirty glass; and finally, I would prefer freshly made roast potatoes, rather than frozen, which were very salty. Expensive for a roast too! (The waitress who served us was friendly and efficient though)

i went for dnner last night for the 1st time and thought it was super. we were looked after by a charming girl called kat. she recommened the pan fried brill which was cooked to perfection and she was very knowledgable about the wines. the restaurant wasnt full which made our evening even more enjoyable. The Ginger Pig is quite awful. I went with 2 colleagues and we waited nearly an hour for our maincourse which one of the pies was burnt and dry. The starters were not impressive and although the waiter was doing his best, they need more staff. When i complained the Manager came over and was very patroning, not at all sorry and she was clearly in the wrong job, maybe she could try being a club bouncer or a bailiff. They were busy like the Manager told me but i think that this is a poor excuse. They shouldnt have so many tables if they cant cope in the kitchen

My daughter and I had lunch recently in The Ginger Pig and we both thought that both the food and service were superb. We started with the scallops which were exquisite and cooked to perfection. My next course was Roast Goose with red cabbage and mash – succulent. My daughter had the turbot which was superb. The wine list was very good with some well chosen wines and glasses at very reasonable prices. The service was both friendly and efficient. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

excellent

three of us and toddler went for sunday lunch. all food was superb especially the roasts and concise but varied menu we were served very professionally and quickly.

very child friendly without being screaming buggy park.

would highly recommend. however would definitely get there for 12 on a sunday as there is a bunfight for tables when the kitchen opens at 12.30. very nice bar area to have an aperitif while you are waiting.

all good. will be back.

this is most definitely not a pub (not even a gastro pub), it's a restaurant pretending to be a pub. Not that it's not nice, it's an okay restaurant for the price.

quite snobby staff though. maybe that was just me though. i get easily intimidated by waiting staff.

I wish they would change the menu. I've been 3 times in the last 3 months and am fed up with eating the goats cheese terrine for starter and stuffed red peppers for main! This is ruining what is otherwise a pretty good restaurant overall.
