I wish they would change the menu. I've been 3 times in the last 3 months and am fed up with eating the goats cheese terrine for starter and stuffed red peppers for main! This is ruining what is otherwise a pretty good restaurant overall.

We visited after a recommendation and it was not a disappointment. The place fills up early, we arrived in time for the sitting to commence at 6.30 and there were many who had to wait until spaces became available so definitely get there early if you don't like waiting.

Both the bar and waiting staff are great, they make you feel vvery welcome they are extremely helpful. There is a good atmosphere without it being too loud.

We ahd the foie gras, tiger prawns, rib eye and the stem ginger pudding washed down with a couple fo bottles of good Aussie red. Probably wouldn't do such a heavy dessert next time though but that is no reflection on the quality.

We arrived at about 6.40pm on Saturday night and the place was already pumping. We were immediately greeted and were told an hour and half wait was in order for food.

After some brilliant cocktails, within the hour we were sat at our table.

How wonderful, for once, the staff, (all very fimilar to those who have visited Browns and the Tin Drum) to be so enthusiam and have such a good knowledge of the menu.

We skipped the starters, (having munched through some rather good nuts at the bar!) and plumped straight for a fish pie and ribeye and chips on our waiters recommendation.

Within about 15 minutes the piping hot food swiftly arrived and superb it was too! Although not the biggest portions, the fish pie was the by far the best I have tasted and the ribeye was apparently cooked to perfection and 'just melted in the mouth'.

We then finished with an excellent selection of Briitsh and Irish cheeses, (Carrs water biscuits were a bit 'drab' though).

Our total bill came to just short of £70 including lager, wine and several cocktails each. Superb value and we will certainly be back.......... at 6.30pm sharp!!

My wife and I and another couple went to the restaurant on Sunday 26th August. This was the second time I had been and I can't fault the place.

Luckily we got a seat straight away - mind you we were there around 6.45. However we stayed about three hours and they didn't rush us. Everyone had a great meal and the service is excellent. And it's not desperately expensive.

I have now been to all the Ginger restaurants and we are so lucky to have such a great small chain here in Brighton and Hove. Well done to the owner, management and staff.

i have been keen to try the ginger pig for a long time so my partner and i went for sunday lunch there. we arrived early (12.30) to ensure we could get a table. the food was outstanding, the service and atmosphere were spot on. i was so pleased about this place as the gingerman is my favourite restaurant so its great to see ben continuing his quality style of providing classy eateries.

firstly the staff and service are brilliant. The waiters who served us were friendly, very proffessional and attentive. food was wonderful and the general experience was excellent. service like this is very rare, especially in Brighton where it seems to be going rapidly downhill.

Three words Fantastic, Fantastic, Fantastic. Ben Mckeller has done himself proud. Somewhere to go when you dont feel like the hassle of fine dinning but still want the quality. The staff are wonderful, especially the girl on the door who continually told us about our prgreess on the list (we got in, in less time than what she said). Its just a lovely relaxed atmosphere, definatly go again.
