I went today for lunch with my sister to try something new. The food was delicious and the ladies working there were lovely ( i loved the japanese style kimonos). I would definitely go again and would recommend it highly.

went for my birthday and it was great - cheap (£10.50 for a filling selection of different dishes) great deco, service and atmosphere. Get yourselves down. They even game me some ice cream for free due with a candle in it. Lovely job.
Kampai!

yesterday i've been to sushi garden with my mom, and i liked the service , the girls were really friendly, and kind, but i was a little confused about the sushi rolls. it seems like the california rolls wasnt made with fresh crabmeat. i noticed it was flavoured wheat or something, since i had this flavour before. i'm not too sure, but i thought it was odd anyway.at least you could expect a bit more for this expensive price.
other than that i had a nice evening!

Went to the Sushi Garden last Monday. Not happy at all. I've been there couple of times and always been very satisfied. The manager was not working this evening, that might explain something.
1. The food came randomly to our table, with long time between courses.
2. the waitresses were giggling and speaking so we could easily hear what they were talking about, not that we were interested. But that's annoying when you go out and pay 70 pounds for a meal. When they are giggling it is also harder to get their attention if you would like more soya sauce or another drink.
3. we sat with used plates, empty bottles, empty glasses for a long long time. and when we left the place our table was full - normally the waitresses keep a close eye on the status of drinks and immediately take empty plates from your table.
4. I'm in general not happy with forced tips. They put 6 pounds on our bill "service included". I'm paying a lot of money for food on restaurant, could go to Waitrose and buy some fish and soya sauce....you are paying more money for food on restaurant because you are paying for the cooking and the service! Normally I'm happy to pay the service charge, but not this time.
5. the food was not cold enough, neither the rice nor the fish, a slightly warm, raw tuna or salmon is a bit yucky...
In general, go on a weekend to the Sushi Garden, then it is more likely the manager, which is great, will be on shift and she will make sure things run smoothly.

This place is a real find. I went there with a friend about a month ago and we were very impressed! The interior is lovely and the staff are dressed in a traditional Japanese manner. Food arrived promptly and was of a high standard. I had a seafood ramen which was made from fresh ingredients...it was great! I'm definitely going back!

We just stumbled upon this place on Saturday afternoon whilst visiting Brighton for the weekend. What a find! Lovely interior, extremely friendly staff and the food was delicious - and so reasonable. We will definitely go back next time we're in Brighton.

I have been to this place about 5 times so far, and I find it so nice!!
cozy and friendly atmospher, excellent food, beautiful deco and professional staff.. score 10 of 10!
someone wrote that the manager did nothing but grunted to the staff, but I know her quite well but she is always friendly, never loses her smile to everybody. I love this place so much anyway!

Went there for lunch oneday, as the decor from the outside looked very appealing as my partner and I were walking up Preston Street. We walked in and was greeted quite promptly. There were only four other tables there, but the waitresses seemed like they were running around like headless chickens. Anyways, we orderd our drinks, but the girl that took our order did not speak very good English and had to come back and asked us what we ordered twice. My partner and I just raised a smile, she seemed polite enough and we can see se was really trying to make an effort. Though it was not busy we can see another lady wearing a black kimono, probably the manager as the other girls were wearing red grunting at the other girls and bossing them around in a rude way. My immediate thought was she should have been doing some work as she rarely seemed seemed to be doing anything there. The food came after a while wait, we chose some special katsu dishes and we also try something that I never heard of before, 'fusion sushi'. My all time favourite japanese dishes have always been katsus (breacrumbed meat on scrambled egg rice). I usually have this in Sakura in London. The katsu they did here was small, the pork was so thin it seemed like i was eating fried crumbs, and the rice was very dry. The fusion sushi looked quite good tho, tasted ok, but was smoothered in too much sauce to taste the freshness of the seafood. Their prawns and tuna tasted like frozen, rather then fresh, but the smoothering of sauce may have covered it. We finished and called for the bill. What was strange was that i paid more for the sushi (over £12 for one long roll) then for my rice dish. Sadly we paid over £35 for a very average meal, but we left a tip for the waitress as we felt sorry for her working so hard whilest the manager doing nothing. Then to find out that she has to share the tips with everybody including the boss and the chefs??!! We left feeling bemused...

I really like my Japanese food and have been to Sushi Garden several times, it's was a great find. Nice atmos, friendly and professional staff who were quick to correct mistakes, with a smile too. Quite a wide variety of dishes, I particularly like the Bento B - you get a good selection of sushi, sashimi and tempura. Food is reasonably priced and really tasty, would definitely recommend.

The atmosphere is excellent and the girls serving there are friendly. The menu is not pricy at all. However, my friend and i got runs the next day. So, would it be the food there? i wonder... ...
