i am writing for majarajah indian restaurant in bramber steyning west sussex. me and my husband went there to have dinner cause i always love to eat tikka masala. when we went through the main entrance, the carpet was dirty and the atmosphere is not very pretty. it's like you're in a cellar.but this is not the one that put us off. the waiters are not friendly. they dont smile and not even say thank you. they just put the food in the table without saying excuse me and never say any word.same as when we finish eating, they just took the plates away without even asking if we are finish eating.and i found it so disgusting because we were never treated like that by other restaurants ever. when we're going to pay, we said we will pay by card. and we we waited for 15 minutes and no one is coming to do our payment. so we walked to the bar and pay for our meal there.and the food was expensive.the naan bread tastes egg and flour..like a pancake.

We went to this Indian after a recommendation from the Internet, and sadly it ended in verbal abuse from the chef. We recieved Three main courses that were bland. The food was below standard and couldn't be raved about.

The Maharajah was below 1 out of 10. The popadoms in the review, were nothing like the ones we had and you could even say Sharwoods popadoms out of a packet were better. In the special pilau rice included Marrowfat peas and nothing that resembled fresh ingredients.

The chef who has worked there for 30 years was clearly grieved by this and demanded we still paid for our dinner, although staff took it away after being half eaten and said that whether we come again or not, we must pay. The chef couldn't understand the phrase "no flavour" or "bland" but he insisted on being rude and abusive in a threatening manor.

Despite the one and only review on line, I'd seriously avoid this place and despite regulars. This over priced, tasteless Indian cuisine is to be avoided like the plague.
