It's a balmy Summer's Saturday night and I'm meeting some friends for dinner at More bar & restaurant.

We walk into a very refreshing environment. The bar area is demarcated in lime green whilst the dining area is all aubergine. The atmosphere is very cool here. We are greeted by the most welcoming owner Mr. Sadegh Al-Hilaly. He's the perfect host. He makes sure that we enjoy ourselves.

So we kick off with some melt-in-your-mouth cheesy dough balls, And then select an array of Tapas- Roasted red pepper hummous beautifully decorated with some fresh curly parsley, drizzled with olive oil with some fabulous homemade stone-baked flat bread. Lamb Pincho: skewered Marinated Lamb on a bed of fresh salad in a light lemon dressing. Pallini di Manzo: beef meat balls in the most flavoursome mediteranean tomato sauce. Some yummy Patatas Aglio: lightly fried finely-chopped potatoes cooked with garlic which you get to dip in a garlic mayonnaise. Malanzane alla Parmigiana: oven-baked Aubergine done to perfection with garlic, tomato, mozzarella and a touch of double cream. Cozze alla Crema: sautéed fresh mussels with served in a wonderfully creme sauce with onion, lemon juice and thyme. I finish the sauce off with a spoon!

We are entertained by a most charming elderly lady singing in a Jazz band. I also spy that they have Free Salsa classes on Wednesday nights which certainly sparks my interest. It's all excellent value at more bar & restaurant. We take advantage of their fantastic 2 for 1 meal deals on mains.

My guy, Mr. T chooses the Calzone de verdure. Out comes a massive calzone in a mediteranean tomato sauce. You can tell the pastry is hand twisted. It's filled with grilled aubergine, mushrooms, mozzeralla and roasted peppers. You can really tell that the aubergine is lightly grilled & not overdone.

I feel like pigging out so it's pizza for me. I go for more! It's a Bacon & chicken, mushroom pizza all topped with fresh homemade pesto. And boy do these guys make the best pizzas in town.

And we can certainly attest to that as after our meal we were blessed enough to watch the Italian Chef Mario make all the dough by hand. His mother runs a famous restaurant in Naples who taught him that no metal must touch the dough. He doesn't even use a processor or Kitchen Aid to make the dough. It's all kneaded by hand.

Our friends feel like celebrating life so they wash their meal down with a very pleasant pitcher of Sex on the Beach served up by Head waiter Andrew. I'm feeling like I need something relaxing so I choose a cup of Chamomile Tea & I must say our waiter Tom makes such a lovely cup of tea served with a slice of lemon.

We are also well looked after by the manager, Ahmed who is not afraid to go out of his way for us. Nothing is too much trouble. He makes the best coffee for Mr T - a machiato with a dash of frothed milk on top. It's presented in the cutest smallest little cup ever!

Everything at more: all the food & drink is beautifully presented & freshly prepared. Whilst it's really nice to share with your friends, when you eat each dish at more you kinda wish that you could eat it all & just go back for More!

Was on my sister in laws hen night, and had a table for 23 booked for 5 oclock on a saturday afternoon, sister in law received a phone call to say table was running a little late but they would accomodate us, when we arrived the restaurant was packed , approached the manager who proceded to argue with my sister in law and call her a liar as she had not received a phone call asking for confirmation before 3 oclock even though he insisted that he had asked for confirmation. There was no such phone call and we were asked to leave the restaurant....very disapponting as the restaurant looked fantastic, we unfortunately did not get the chance to try the food.......disgusting treatment, and the restaurant lost out on a lot of money!!!

My wife has eaten at More Bar many times on weekday lunchtimes over several months (including just three days before our visit) and has been very keen for me to try it. We went there last Saturday evening and ordered eight dishes from the Tapas list and a bottle of wine. So far so good, the waiter was attentive and moved a second table to hold all our food which mostly appeared in a reasonable time - one dish never did arrive, but as it happened we were quite grateful for this omission.

The squid was so rubbery as to be virtually inedible, the dough balls were greasy, mussels and potatoes appearing to have been drastically sugared they were so sweet, whitebait and chicken dry and hard, and the mushrooms were bland and could have been tinned by their consistency. No plates to eat from were brought and nobody came over to ask how it was. After a few mouthfuls we called the waiter over, explained that the food was not to our liking, together with the reasons, and asked for the bill - we were quite prepared to pay and leave.

The waiter called the manager, who recognised my wife, and expressed surprise and regret that we were unhappy. He offered to replace the dishes or to provide something else and, to his credit, the food bill was waived and we left after paying for the wine and water only.

Colleagues of my wife have eaten at More Bar on a weekday evening and been satisfied so we can only presume and hope that our experience is not repeated too often. Atmosphere was non-existent as only a handful of other diners were there and the background music was dire - "Stand By Me" being repeated at intervals over a distorted music system.

Well, after the successful ladies who lunch venture, took my other half a week later to sample the delights. Although the weather wasn't as kind to us this time, the welcome was as warm. Safely esconced on one of the plump sofas, nursing a half pint of Leffe and glass of rose, we had the olives with the warm home made flat bread again to munch on whilst perusing the menu.

My husband chose the home made burger (not the Kobe beef, although would have liked), and I just had to try the lamb tagine. His meal came with chips, salsa and salad, and mine was accompanied by cous cous. The big burger was succulent and tasty (I was forced to try some in interests of fair play!) and my tagine was out of this world. In a proper tagine dish there was a HUGE bowlful of lean, tenderly melting lamb chunks in a tasty, spicy sauce that had olives and apricots in. The cous cous was nicely cooked and had a lemony flavour which worked well. Although enlisting the help of a nice Rouwkes Drift red, I was forced to accept defeat after munching my way through about a third of my food, and my husband managed about two thirds of his. Extremely reluctant to give any of it up, my plaintive request for a doggy bag was smilingly fulfilled, and we waddled off happily, vowing to return soon.

Another winner! (Three) Ladies who lunch visited yesterday, and after two jugs of Pimms (beautifully done, loaded with strawberries, lemon, lime, cucumber and mint), gorgeous, generous portion of garlicy olives and two lots of tapas accompanied by warm home made bread, we all voted this place a hit! A lovely bar, friendly people and delicious tapas at reasonable prices. They do a good selection of food besides tapas; saw another table eating lamb tagine, and they told us it was delicious - nice spicy sauce with tender melting meat. We liked everything about this place. It is laid back with chill music at lunchtime, has live music on Saturdays (very lively apparently!), salsa and tango classes during the week, happy hour when you can buy two cocktails for £5.50 and a bottle of house wine for £7.00.

We spent a couple of very happy hours watching the world (and his wife) pass by us in Trafalgar Street and look forward to returning asap.

We always try a place twice, We are very pleased to say More has become our favourite restaurant bar. The tapas is amazing and the pizza is the best we have tried. On each occasion we have been to More the food, service and entertainment has been 1st class.

I have visited More Bar several times and love the food, ambience and unobtrusive service. The Bar has lovely, warm colours and is very relaxing but fun.

Tapas are tasty and good value, the roasts are great, the tuna is yummy and the home-made burgers are filling and flavoursome .

We particularly enjoy Sunday nights as we can watch the Tango dancing and enjoy the inexpensive House wine and plan to go to the Salsa nights soon.

A great place for couples and groups- try it!!
