Food ok. Went on a Friday evening early. They were quite empty but the meal still took forever. The service was pleasant when it happened but why it took so long was a mystery.

Used 2 for 1 on mains Monday 1st August for a late lunch. Service for most part good, except one waiter expressing surprise that we wanted the complimentary water cold (on a hot summer's day!!!) It was tepid at best, and the waiter's attitude was it's tap water what do you expect, so had to ask for separate ice cubes. A long wait endured for starters, then charming Irish waitress informed us that a disaster in the kitchen involving the collapse of the deep fryer meant we couldn't have one of the options chosen. We were then comped an alternative starter of our choice plus one of the original order that was still available. Had ricotta stuffed sweet chillis and the complementary garlic prawns. Chillis a little too hot for me but my oh loved them. The prawns were very tasty with plenty of garlic buttery sauce which we mopped up with rosemary flat bread. After a suitable pause we then had spaghetti ragu and scallop risotto. My risotto had three plump scallops, with leeks and bacon and a taste of chilli in the rice, all of which was perfectly cooked. I must say, the best risotto I have ever tasted and the spaghetti ragu was plentiful and tasty too. Not keen on my oh's choice of sweet - cheesecake with pistachios and strawberry coulis, far too sickly, but that's just a personal preference. Two glasses of nice rose wine with the meal and two very good coffees after. Will definitely go again with another offer, as makes a very affordable meal.

I'm so surprised at the low rating this restaurant has at present. My wife and I are regular diners there and we are very fussy and critical of anything below par when we eat out. We are also frequent visitors to Italy so know what the real thing is like. So far we have never had a disappointing meal at Strada, and other than on one occasion when the service was very slow the staff have been efficient, attentive and helpful. Excellent pizza and seafood and a great wine list. Good value for money as well. So don't be put off, give it a try, it puts many other Italian restaurants in Brighton into the shade.

My husband and I dine regularly at Strada on North Street and it is one of our favourite restaurants. The food and service are consistently delicious and professional respectively and there is a great wine list. We have always found them able to accommodate both a leisurely meal or a quick bite to eat pre theatre equally well. We have only dined at the Brighton Marina branch once but didn't find it to be as good as the North Street one.

How bad can it get? Our foursome decided to eat at Strada prior to the Sunday afternoon Brighton Philharmonic concert. Arrived 12.45 offered menu and drinks 13.00. They were out of house wine so had to pay £16.95 for a very poor Spanish Merlot. Food orders taken 13.10, out of bread for the misto. Food arrived 13.35. Risotto very good; other things mediocre. Only ordered one course each. Total bill £68 after they knocked off the cost of the coffees. Poor service, young girls out of their depth and overworked. Not their fault, but never again!

My partner and i went here for my birthday meal. what a mistake that was.
Partner was on crutches yet they wanted to seat us on a table with no leg room or access. when we asked for another table -" you can sit in the bar area".
Service was shocking, only poured the wine once all night and did not offer it to taste first.
Food was cold or just warm.
We have been to many strada and never had problems.
