Went here a couple of nights ago and found the service ans sushi terrible.
would not reccomend anyone to try sushi here. Felt the fish was not at all fresh - was it frozen?!!

It's all about the soft -shell crab tempura mmmm. A real treat. Admittedly I've had a couple of experiences here that weren't fantastic but I'd put that down to it being incredibly busy. Go on a weeknight for better food.

I'd been interested in visiting Murasaki Café after trying out the offerigns of Murasaki Bento. I'm a vegetarian, and went with my partner and his parents. They were both new to the Japanese food experience.
The aubergine / miso / tofu dish was divine, as was the vegetable tempura. Everyone enjoyed the food, and the service was just right. We will definitely go there again.

Fair sized group of us. Service as friendly but slow. Food all seemed to go down well, but it is over-priced for the steady tapas-stream of dishes they specialise in, if you really want to fill yourself up you'll be spending quite a lot. A choice of sake was welcome but nothing exceptional in the end. Plum wine was first class. Not bad.

Love it. Only started eating sushi a year ago. The sashimi is delicious and the staff are very friendly.
A small intimate environment and GF and I promised to eat there once a month as a treat. We are currently going once a week!

I love the restaurant. However I ordered their takeaway (delivered) for the first and last time last night.
The food was dreadful, completely different quality to that you get in the restaurant. The dips that were meant to come with things were not included, it took an hour to deliver and worst of all was the curry noodle dish I had, the thick curry sauce was like dishwater not at all like the one in the restaurant, the carrots (I think thats what they were) in it were mush and the chicken was done to death. I suspect it has been sat boiling away for hours!
Bad bad bad, by sending out such rubbish that is so different to the cafe at seven dials itself you are ruining your good name!

Went with my GF recently, liked the food overall. Really nice place to eat.
This was the first place to actually put a ume fruit in my glass of plum wine, and plum wine is my favorite tipple ever, and I have eaten in over 6 places in teh UK but never received my plum wine like this!!! FANTASTIC!
Good service - We (me and my GF) only had an hour to eat before having to go due to work etc, so when the waitress saw me checking my watch after 20 mins after ordering Im sure she got the chef to get a move on, can I say more? They were very full at the time but I still got our food served within 30 mins of ordering and it was worth waiting.
EAT HERE.

Muraski is my favourite restaurant in Brighton, the service is always really good and the food tastes great, I especially recommend the Chicken teryaki and the Edamane. You must also try the tempura ice cream with chocolate as its very tasty.

I love this restaurant, the food is always spot on, always fresh ingredients, really the best in Brighton. Live nearby and go often, but it is always a treat. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is cosy and lively.
The drinks are great, especially the plum wine, have to be careful how many I drink!
Would recommend to anyone.

This is a difficult one. It is my local Japanese restaurant, and as such I really want to like it. All of my friends rave about it and have had some good experiences there.
As a result I have tried it about 3 times (giving it a chance) but I have had nothing but less than average food there.
The sushi looks like it was made by a E.T. with dodgy fingers and coarse hands. To make matters worse the ingredients have never been fresh. Now finding fresh fish (for sushi) in Brighton is pretty easy.
The various curry and meat dishes are also always poor. The only saving grace then is the soup, noodles, and rice. If they got that wrong I might end this review here.
Drinks are OK but it is a restaurant therefore I look to the food first.
Right as I am a lazy b*****d and I want Japanese tonight I am going to give it one last try! Yeah I know I am a sucker.
