We couldnt be happier, friendly staff, food was gorgeous, the restaurant was very busy the service was still efficient and quick. A little on the expensive side but all in all we would definitely recommend.

Rubbish and expensive, 2 hours late, cold and oily, 3/4 of food went in the bin, after a 2 hours of trying to contacting them and get a call back regarding the state of the order finally got the manager to agree to a refund (even offered them to take there food back)

Also got someone elses order within ours.

Do not recommend.

A very good Indian restaurant, good service and generous portions. We would certainly recommend Hove Tandoori to others and go back there ourselves.

I went with a friend to Hove Tandoori for the first time last night. On a Tuesday evening, the restaurant was almost full when we arrived at about 8:30. A good sign we thought.

That thought turned out to be true. We had four perfect poppadoms with pickles followed by a Lamb Naga, a Chicken Ceylon, two portions of pilau rice, one chapatti and pint and a half of Kingfisher. Both curries were superb, with plenty of tender meat (no fat on the lamb) and rich, very distinctively flavoured, sauces. Their pilau rice is different from anything I have seen before, but very pleasant never-the-less. Personally, I would say both were amongst the best curries I have ever had anywhere in the UK. The service was friendly and quick. All for £22.60! We will both very definitely be returning. Brilliant place.

They do a take away service too.

This used to be one of my favourate restaurants until they decided to capitalise with a double booking system on Saturday evenings. Under this system you have the choice of eating at seven or nine. For me seven is too early, and nine is too late. If you do manage to get there at seven, and assuming friends you are meeting there can be punctual; the clock is running against you. By the time you have had a chance to say a few pleasantries to each other, order some drinks and a few popadoms, it's getting near eight o'clock. You then have a hour if you're lucky to bolt a starter down and a main course before the waiters start reminding you that other people are waiting for the table at nine. You are also pressured to order everything at once to save time, with the result that you don't have time to finish the starter before the main course arrives. The whole thing is stress personified. You certainly don't have time for any conversation. This together with the apalling acoustics in the restaurant, left me with a cracking headache and a strict resolution never to be exploited like this again. My friends are of the same opinion (all local residents that used to frequent this restaurant). Thank goodness for the Zamdani across the road where you can enjoy excellent food in a non pressurized relaxed atmosphere.

Had the most amazing meal in Hove Tandoori. Getting a table is hard, but worth persevering. The waiters were very attentive, the prices were good and the food was the most delicious! Not too much Ghee used on these curries, which makes all the difference, you leave feeling full but not bloated as is sometimes the occurence at other indian restaurants. Top Marks, had a fantastic time.

I haven't eaten there but my attempt to book a table for a birthday party put me right off. I wanted an 8 pm sitting but was told (not very politely or apologetically) that they could only do 7 pm or 9 pm plus they required a deposit.

Okay if it was Christmas or something but surely these days restaurants should make an effort to accommdate customers and be a bit more focused on customer service. Attitude on phone was didn't care if I booked or not, very abrupt and unfriendly. Subsequently phoned another nearby Indian restaurant who had no problem for an 8 pm sitting on a Friday night and no deposit required plus very nice to speak to.
