I haven't eaten there but my attempt to book a table for a birthday party put me right off. I wanted an 8 pm sitting but was told (not very politely or apologetically) that they could only do 7 pm or 9 pm plus they required a deposit.

Okay if it was Christmas or something but surely these days restaurants should make an effort to accommdate customers and be a bit more focused on customer service. Attitude on phone was didn't care if I booked or not, very abrupt and unfriendly. Subsequently phoned another nearby Indian restaurant who had no problem for an 8 pm sitting on a Friday night and no deposit required plus very nice to speak to.

Ordereded a takeaway for two on a Saturday night. I was reluctant to buy from there as Hove Tandoori have never been consistent with their quality of food - sometime good sometimes not so good. The service and food we received tonight though has made up my mind - it was very poor. They firstly didn't take down our order correctly so a meal for one arrived instead of for two. The food that did arrive was cold and was also incorrect. When I called them they couldn't seem to register the fact that they'd made a mistake and weren't offering to rectify it saying that there was nothing they could do. I would therefore not recommend buying a takeaway from these guys.

What a fabulous find! We booked a table for 7pm on a Wednesday evening and although it was quiet when we arrived, it was full up by the time we left. The service was excellent, and the food was simply some of the best Indian food I've ever eaten. Thoroughly recommended, we can't wait to go back!

One of the best Indians' I have ever had. great atmosphere, good for small parties. Wide selection on curries, plus more than happy to prepare it just the way you like it! Gave complementary poppadoms with some good dips as starters. Service was excellent, very helpful and talkative. Great value for money and worth another visit.

I think Hove Tandoori is possibly the best Indian restaurant in Brighton & Hove.

The only complaint I have is that the drinks take ages to arrive, my tip is to order before you decide what to eat.

We visited Hove Tandoori last night on our visit to Brighton from London. It was highly recommended by friends who had eaten there on previous visits to Brighton.

The food was outstanding. The staff were very attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. Unlike other restaurants in Brighton, we were not rushed, which meant spending 3 hours, as well as a late night stay in a restaurant where the staff were only too happy to make our evening relaxing as well as enjoyable.

Highly recommended dishes are Green Tikka Masala, Vegetable Baji, King Prawn Balti. Superb combination.

Must visit restaurant in Brighton.
