Been a few times for the £5 lunch although the food was okay I refuse to go again because of the awful awful service. My wife asked for some soya sauce and the waitress claimed they were out. Yeah right she was just too lazy to get some.

resonable price and taste, service was inattentive and slow, although food came quickly after we finally managed to order. I was only able to pay by pretending to leave and when I pointed out that they overcharged they became quite rude.

This is the best Thai restaurant in Brighton now. True it did go through a rough patch for a couple of mojnths where i think they had a new chef. Now though the food is back to its spiciest best. The food is authentic (not ferang authentic) so if you like your green currys in western style (sweet) then it may be the place for you. the food does come without toooo much heat so if you like your food very spicy then ask for it ped ped or if not so spicy then Mai ped. They will cook as you like. Favourite dishes of me and freinds are the Jungle Curry, Beef yum nua (beef salad) and green curry (ped ped). I would also try the duck curry which is good and the prak pows are good as are the stir fries.

Been going for over 4 years now and only had a couple of off meals as mentioned earlier. Plus one of the few places to serve chang beer!!!

Went there in March. Lovely food, good service great value pleasant decor intimate atmosphere. So maybe its a bit hit and miss, or maybe the other diners are fussier than I am. But it tasted pretty authentic to me and - sorry about air miles- was in Bali a year ago so have tasted something geographically close to the real thing.

I can't agree with the last two reviewers and can only think they were eating in a different restaurant. Checks. Nope, same one: Mai Ped, Ped, Ped, Brighton.

We went to the restaurant with friends, who'd visited many times before and for some reason call the restaurant, 'Thai Tapas.' The idea being of course that you can order bits and bobs from the menu and share among friends, which is exactly what we did.

I almost wished we hadn't, though, when my hot beef salad arrived. The beef was succulent, with a biting sweet chili sauce and just the right amount of veg for a carnivore like myself. The pad thai did indeed have noodles, (unlike previous reviewer's) and was elegantly spiced and temptingly presented. The red duck curry was the usual fare, but again, tasted fresh and that little bit different to make it stand out from other local Thai restaurants.

The service wasn't exceptional - the waiters and waitresses were having a good old gossip in the corner for most of the meal. But hey, at least they were convivial and friendly, not surly unlike in some Brighton restaurants. And the personal approach in the menus was a nice touch, but I'll leave you to find out what that is when you visit. Because you must! Highly recommended.

This has to be the worst place I have ever been for dinner.

After stumbling across this place it looked nice and smelt good when entering, but we were greeted with frowns and unhappy people.

I ordered food with my other half which included pad tie - which turned up with no noodles or anything and I also chose a squid dish which was brought to me as prawn, not even king prawn.

The service was aweful, we had to ask for extras and for our plates to be taken away, and when we wanted to pay they tried to fob us off by saying the credit card machine wasnt working, then apparently it was upstairs and then it appeared and was working.

The only good thing was that they forgot to charge us for a bottle of wine.

The worst thai food ever and the worst place to eat with misserable staff.

OK...been here about 20 times and used to love it, but the last three or four trips have been truly awful. Here's a rundown of Saturday's events...

1) We had to get our own menu's

2) The couple next to us had their starters but no cutlery...we had to give them ours after their pleas to the waiting staff went unheard

3) Lucky dip as to whether you get what you order. We got the wrong starter - as did the couple next to us. We didn't get each others which would have been understandable.

4) The waiting staff had absolutely no idea what was going on. All very smiley but when you have asked for the bill three times you're not smiling back.

4) Oh yes...one dish, Chicken Pad Prik, was stone cold.

It has potential to be good again - train the staff for starters. And serve the food hot.

Terrible. Not going back.

There are so many good restaurants out there...try them.
