Very cramped, poor service and average food. This used to be the best place in central Brighton. What happened guys??

My partner and I have eaten on more than severaloccasions. When we first found it and ate there on a quiet week night it was great; we thought we found a real gem: staff were friendly and efficient, if not a bit unsure of some of the wines, the food was great and the surrounding were nice (a little shabby in places but quite endearing...in fact it was the little quirks like the different order of pages in the menu that made it quaint). However, subsequent visists have been varied: on busy nights the staff can't cope very well, you feel quite cramped and can hear every detail of the table next to you. I thought the one thing that remained continually good was the food but others I have been with were not impressed.

I too was a big fan of Mai Ped, Ped, PEd, but recently it has become a bitty shabby. One of the light fittings had water leaking through it which went into my wine!!!

On Valentines all the tables were pushed too far together, which made an intimate evening a bit public! Generally the service and food have gone down hill, which is a bit of a shame.

Shall no longer be reccommending this friends.

We found this restaurant by chance yesterday afternoon in Market Street. The food was great and the waiter was very friendly and attentive....very good service.

While everything was great except for the price was too high comparing to other Thai or Chinese restaurants in town. 10% service charge added seems a bit unfair to customers.

We're great fans of this place and have been back quite a few times. Apparently they've got a new head chef (the last one went mad?!), and the food we had last weekend was certainly very good. Lovely Pad Thai and Thai green curry. Would recommend it.

Caged in like animals with couples either side of us, everyone listening to each other's conversations! Food was simply awful. Very bland and very, very watery. Seemed as if some veg and meat had been added to some stock and hot water. No taste or spice at all. Service average.

won't be returning. tables were far to close together, we felt like we had to whisper throughout our meal. food was bland, watery and totally over priced. we ordered rice dish for 2 which was hardly enough for one and no way enough to soak up the ditch water that the few lonely over cooked prawns were swimming in. shockingly bad. wine ok, and service ok. but not a place i would go to again.

I was until recently a big fan of Mai Ped, Ped, Ped. However on a recent visit for lunch, was appalled and both the food and the service. The garnish & salad was wilted, the Spring rolls were cold and when I mentioned this to the waitress she poked her finger inside the spring roll to check!. And that was just the starters. They offered no solution to the issue and insisted charging full price. This place must be under new management, the prices have gone up and the quality has gone down - whatever it is I would definitely not recommend this restaurant.

My boyfriend and I heard some really good things about this place so we made a special effort to go. We were dissapointed - it was not half as good as we had hoped. The inside needs abit of a face lift. However the staff were polite and the food was better than average.
