Second time I've had the misfortune of eating there, and I definitely wont be bothering again.

Against my better judgement I went this time, as it was a friend's birthday, however nothing had changed;

1. Poor food - completely devoid of any flavour, and very small portions at that

2. Staff that spoke little or no English. I understand it's a Moroccan restaurant, but when it takes nearly two minutes to convey to somebody that you want a vodka and lemonade it really is just taking the Michael.

3. Expensive - I refer to point one here. Not one of our eleven strong party came away happy, and for £250 that is a disgrace.

4. The basement was completely unventilated, and by the time we left at least a few of us were so hot that we were feeling sick.

Avoid this place like the plague, unless you have a particular penchant for being ripped off.

After reading the good reviews on this site and after a trip to Marrakech in February I was looking forward to going for my birthday last night to the Blue Man with my wife and nine friends. Lovely venue but that is the only good thing I have to say I'm afraid. We were seated in the basement at a table which was far too small for eleven people and then the waiter made it clear as we were browsing the menu that we had better hurry up and order because once the group of sixteen he was expecting arrived we would have a long wait for our food! The merguez I had for my starter was ok but my lamb tagine was tasteless. The sauce/juice that it was cooked in was wishy washy, there was no salt in it at all and had none of the beautiful spice flavours that we tasted in every tagine we ate in Morocco. The best thing about tagines is the sweet/ spicey mix and it was neither! I have never tasted something as flavourless in my life.The portion was tiny and the very small bowl of accompanying cous cous was as dry as dust. At £11.50 it is criminally priced for a tiny, flavourless dish.I am afraid every single one of our party had the same opinion and we all left disappointed and still hungry! Very poor and we shall never be returning!

After all the good reviews of this place I felt a little disappointed after eating there last night.

The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I think had the prices been lower to reflect the food it would have been more acceptable.

The starters were nice but paying £13 for a fish tagine that lacked substance and £11.50 for a chicken tagine that whilst being tender didn't have the depth or aroma you would expect was far too expensive. Both dishes lacked interest.

The prices are on a par with NouNou in Kemp Town and given the choice between the two, NouNou wins hands down for the food quality, value and atmosphere.
